ok so some people will say ur crazy because your talking to a dog or a cat but it dosent mean that if you talk to your pets ur crazy , i talk to my pets all the time because if you talk to them it will make them happy and let them live longer! they can exceed in their age limit too!! its true because we had a pet dog, her name is puppy (shes a big rotwiller) hehe funny name for a big dog... shes really old! forgot what age.... but we tal kto her often and shes very lively unlike other dogs when there very old they become lazy....and hard to feed but our dog still jumps around and runs and still eats alot!
so do u talk to your pet? and why?

I think they have their own instincts. Do you see how they react when you communicate to them, to me that means they love it.
Of course! I used to speak to our dogs, and I speak to the cat also.
When we had dogs, they could easily understand.
If I said to O or Cinnamon come or go. They would respond to just whatever I said. They loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always talked to my pets. We have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and I talk to her all the time. I really think it's amazing at how much they learn the meaning of certain words. I once read that dogs only understand like 10 words or something, I disagree with that. My s/o also talks to her, she is our baby and a part of the family. We got her 2 months after we moved in together, and she is just a little bit spoiled lol, she does know when the ice cream truck is coming and she knows that she will stop in front of our house, and that she will get a vanilla ice cream cone. lol She also understands 'plain cheeseburger' and 'dunkin donuts'. She also recognizes her 'daddie's' ringtone on my cell phone, and runs to the phone when he calls. If one of my other ringtones goes off when some one calls she barks at it, not sure if it irritates her that someone else is calling and not her daddy lol

I talk to my cat all the time when I'm home. It's important that we comunicate w/ our animals for they are like us humans they have feelings to and they understand even if we don't think they do they will understand us. My cat knows when I look at him and he can be just sitting in the window and i'll say "Butterball do want to eat?" he'll jump down instantly and come running to me for he know's i'm talking to him or when it's time for bed i'll say "Butterball common it ni-nite time and sure enough he will run right for the bed and jump up and lay down w/ me. I think animals are very smart creatures and know when we communicate w/ them for the ones of us here that do.

I reckon, everyone who has a pet talks to them. Some people just tie their dogs up and the dog is lucky if it's fed. But I'm talking about anyone who truly loves their pet. Most pets are very good at talking to their owners too. My dog, goats and cat all talk to me and let me know when they need me.
I'm crazy for other reasons!

i talk to them...more like baby talk...similar to talking to a child...tell them to come here, where they are when they are quiet...usually getting into something...i always tell them i love them and they respond and show me that they love me back.

Are you kidding!? I talk all the time to my dogs. They have the mentality (according to animal psych.) of a three year old child, once they are adult dogs. It would be cruel not to talk to a 3 year old child, if one was in the home. So. of course I talk to my dogs!
I would think it would be cruel and crazy NOT to talk to them. Besides..they're so darned cute!

Haha, I talked to my pets:)
Every single day. And i called my self 'sis' to them.
I treat them like my lil sister since i don't have one.
I even cry at them and tell my probs wherever am feeling down. And what makes me feel much better is they LISTEN:) And never judge you. And yeah, call me crazy for talked to my pets. I don't mind:)

Yes, I talk to all my pets, the dogs and cats more than the fish. My pets seem to enjoy me talking to them, it seems to me they try to communicate back. I know for a fact that they smile. Never forget dogs are social creatures that why the hang in packs.

I talk to my pets and I know they understand me. It helps me unwind too. And it helps keep them in line too. I really don't talk to my cat as much as my dogs, but then again my cat is very independent and does what she wants....and my dogs are very needy for attention.

Yes, my husband and I have cat language. One of our cats answers back the other has no response.
It's very amusing, as if he knows what we are sayin.

Yes it's rude not to talk to someone when they are right there
