Do fish need clean clothes?

I am a washing freak. Almost everyday I load the washing machine up, let it do its stuff and heave the cleaned clothes off to the line to blow dry in the breeze. Over the last month my machine started to slowly lose the will to live and died. After a ritual mourning period - approximately 30 seconds of stunned disbelief - we set off to the shops for a new one. Ordered on Saturday, delivered on Sunday. Away we went again. Our whites were bright, coloureds still colourful and all done with the pizazz that anything new does. Until this afternoon. After just four days it has died. The door no longer locks, it just makes a curious banging sound. No locked door means no washed clothes. Never mind, I'll phone the retailer, the machine is still under guarantee. "It's not us, you need the manufacturer as they service their own machines in the first year". So I am already starting to run up the cost of the phone calls to "special" customer friendly numbers - all at 10P (20 cents) a minute. So I call the manufacturer. "Sorry the office is closed. Please phone tomorrow. This call may be recorded for training purposes". Why? do they enjoy hearing irate custmers leaving bon mots on their voice mail. I will ring them tomorrow of course. They will probably make me wait until next week. Grrrrrr. In the meantime - ever seen a fish cry?

Oh how irritating! It seems as though the retailer should be the one responsible for getting the problem corrected. But, alas, just like the rest of the country, everyone just wants to pass the buck!

Doesn't seem like your having the best of luck with the washers. Hope you don't run out of clothing and have to resort to wearing that conical bra again..lolWhen I have to make long distance calls Iuse a calling card. It is cheaper most time then calling straight out. I hope you get the situation fixed soon. It is never fun having a messed up washer. I would hate for you to have to spend your days plunging clothes in a bucket.

You poor thing! How frustrating that the machine has decided to start misbehaving--especially so soon after getting it. I certainly do feel for you having to go through the endless calls to (so called) customer service (or the lack thereof!). Definitely not fun at all.
Hang in there and I'll be thinking positive thoughts that the machine can be revived without too much difficulty, and especially with no extra cost to you!
*big hugs*

Awww p1ke my Darling don't cry - an eight hour drive with your washing should get you here and our machine locks and works! I am seriously annoyed at the attitude of the retailer as you have only had the machine 4 days - I feel they are passing the buck and shirking their legal obligations - I saw this on tv the other week - an item has to be fit for the purpose it was sold and the person who sells it is responsible for it and if it has to be seen to by the manufacturer then the retailer should call them! Don't forget you have to threaten them with an irate mummymo - that should do the trick - they hate having to deal with me as I just keep on keeping on at them til they give i - I mean see sense and give me some satisfaction! xxx

The shop told lies, they are responsible because they sold you the washing machine and it was not fit for purpose. It's up to them to give you a refund, replacement or contact the manufacturer on your behalf.
Now don't do so much washing.

My washing pile seems to have reduced lately so maybe you're doing mine, thank you. I don't mind the washing but hate ironing.

If I don't get a proper response in the morning Nanna the fur is going to fly. Right now I'm not doing any washing. I'd like whoever it is that brings all these clothes and things to stop! They sneak them in when I'm not looking and take them away again afterwards. Ironed of course! Maybe I've missed my vocation in life. Remember Toad escaped dressed as a washerwoman. I'd probably break into the prison to do theirs!

I have not yet. It could be the make of the machine. And I get rather annoyed at those "call recorded for training purposes," deal. I wonder how the trainees would feel when they hear what the customers are calling them. Now I am a rather level headed person and have not had any trouble with getting things fixed. I would be quite upset if I could not get the service when I wanted though. You cannot go around in dirty clothes.

I have seen sad fish
The same thing happened to me. Luckily I bought the damned thing at a store with a 30 day return no question asked policy. either they would fix it for me or the machine would be returned. They were pretty quick to come and give me a new one. No way I wanted a machine that broke right away.

NEver trust a company that will deliver on Sunday. They are too eager for your sale.
Seems you wash way too often or you must have a large family. I wash once a week and get it all done. Why overusethe appliance. If I have clothes that are smelly like from going camping or fishing andit is not wash day then yes I will wash them, but otherwise I put clothes in the hamper until wash day, once a week. You ae lucky to be able to hang clothes out todry. I can't. My mom ives in the country and she does that, except winter months.

Fish certainly do need clean clothes, p1kef1sh!I know it can be maddening dealing with customer service people. They have to make it right with you though since it had only been a few days. There is nothing like the smell of freshly laundered clothes and I hope you will be washing away soon.

I think that if I were in your shoes I would be announcing myself and my problem in a very public area of the retailer's store, and complaining very loudly and very publicly.
It took me several hours of this before I got my mobile phone sorted when it broke within days, and I was removed from the foyer of Barclays bank once, but it works! A real live irate customer is very difficult to ignore.
Your machine doesn't need a 'service'. If it breaks after 4 days then it's obviously not fit for the use it's intended for, and that is the retailer's problem. That would be my argument, anyway!
Good luck! And in the meantime, washing the clothes in the bath can be quite fun if you don't mind getting your shoes and socks off and the entire area soaking wet

They are coming on Monday. That's as soon as they can manage it. Admittedly I have had: Hotpoint, Manager Comet Salisbury, Hotpoint again, head Office Comet, Hotpoint gain all tell me they can come on Monday. They'd better turn up! Just off for a shower. I thought that I'd leave my clothes on!!

No I never saw a Fish cry but have you ever saw a kitty spit fire..RRRrrrrr hiss hiss cause thats what i'd do if i was going through what you are right now..a new washer shouldn't do this 4 days later..I'd be so upset and demanding them bring a maid to compensate for me having to go through no clean clothes..How dare they not answer! What are they thinking? That they can make our P1ke cry and not get away with it? GRRRRR..the Tiger came out and not the kitty meow..oh know Ellie better run..hee hee
