I love bouganvillea! How I wish I have some planted in my yard. They are so colorfol and vibrant. Unfortunately, I live in the East Coast where it's not suited for our climate. Bouganvillea loves the sun and it needs at least 5 hours of sunlight to really have good blooms. That's why I see them everywhere in the tropics esp. in the Philippines. They are so great hanging on trellises, pergolas and covering cement walls. They are thorny too, so, take some precautionary measures before you try to cut any branches or stem of flowers to bring inside. Enjoy your blooms!

I do like bougainvillea (Nyctaginaceae). They are vigorous subtropical woody plants armed with spines.Though normally climbers, they can be trained to keep bushy indoors in a pot. There is some recently introduced dwarf-growing kinds that remain bushy without special attention. These flowers are also known as paper flowers. It is an outdoor plant which needs alot of sunlight. They can be grown most successfully in plant windows. In naturally warmer areas they will do well in sunrooms or conservatories. These plants normally lose their leaves for a short period in winter. When they are in bloom they look gorgeous with their splendid colours.

Lovely! I love bougie, but they, sadly, aren't terribly hardy, here. When we're in Florida it's pretty amazing seeing them hang over walls, completely covered with blooms. Very cool plants. Thanks for the piccie!
