I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after suffering for quite some time now. My doctor started me on Neurontin a few months ago but it is not helping with the pain, it used to at least help me sleep but it doesn't even do that any more I just feel fatigued all the time but can't get any sleep. Does anyone have any ideas of medications that will help with the pain or inability to sleep?

I have been on Tylenol 3's for pain since I was diagnosed 11 years ago. I have gone from taking 6-8 pills a day now down to 1-3 pills a day. It helps my pain. If it doesn't work I add some heat in the form of a hot bean bag. That combination usually works for me.
I also take Wellbutrin for depression. I tried 8 anti-depressants until I found one that worked for me. Wellbutrin works really well for me. I've tried to off it and even took the generic brand and I went into depression. Wellbutrin really works for me with no side effects.
I take Nitrazepam to help me sleep at night. I think it works WITH the Tylenol 3. And I take Prevacid for GERD, not sure whether that is fibro-related though. I know when I forget to take my Prevacid because I will start to get heartburn by midday.
Everything else I take is minerals and vitamin supplements. Magnesium is a must. Magnesium/Malic Acid (called Mag-Citrate here) really helps with pain. I have been without it and my pain increased so I know it works. One of the reasons why I don't take as many Tylenol 3's as I did 7 years ago when I first started taking the Mag-Citrate. Give it a try!

Thanks for your input. I have tried the Tylenol 3's before but they didn't help me. I think I will try the magnesium though, I haven't tried that yet, and I am definitely willing to try anything natural like that.

I take Lyrica for it. I also take Mucinex in the daytime and 1 muscle relaxer at bedtime.
