Marica you are so right. Just giving someone hug or a kiss on the cheek will make that person feel happy. I remember when I was smaller and when relatives come and visit us I use to give them a hug and my sisters use to complain. But when my mother used to sent us to church I went and they always say in sunday school class that love can be shown by giving someone one of these. All through my life I practice it. Sometime I am down and someone will just come and give me a hug and this simple act will make me feel different. I would encourage person to always exchange this form of love.

Hugs go a long way. That is the way we greet each other at church and it gives me a boost to get me through the week. I think a hug will go a lot further than a kiss will.

Hi friend,
I am from India. We don't like hugs and kisses. We give shake hands to some and greet older people with namaskarams.Because of Indian culture we never accepts the hugs.Between family members we try to hug if the other agrees only otherwise greet them with namaskarams. If there are friends we just give them shake hands. But now we are slowly changing our culture instead of namaskarams we are being habituated to hugs.
Let us hope in future hugs and kissses would be replaced by namaskarams....
Have a nice day............

Yes, they do make you feel better, especially if you are down and out. A hug goes a long way, don't you think?

I do agree. Without it, we don't leave very good lives. I get lots of hugs and kisses from my kids, though I wish sometimes they'd let me breath! lol. A gentle touch on the arm is good too, as it says that the person cares.

I'm surprised to hear that my answer is no, I don't like hugs. They suffocate me and they seem mostly superficial.
My daughter used to run her fingers across the back of my neck when I was upset. I felt comforted immediately. Small, subtle touching is preferable for me.

I am more of a hugger but probally not for the same reason most are. I have this weird thing about the mouth just not being the cleanest place. My mate is definitely a kisser and loves kissing. I will oblige him since this is what he likes. But a hug is better for me.

Gee, can't we have both lol?! I guess I'd have to say I like getting my hugs. A quick smootch from a relative is great, but a hug lasts longer!! If not from hugs from my family, grandsons and all, I wouldn't ever get a hug. Heck, I'll even take a peanut butter and jelly kiss. I do believe that we need that human touch and interaction in our lives. A simple hug can let us know that we are loved and cared for, and so much more. I've always been a hugger, some people really appreciate that, and I feel sorry for the ones that don't.
