Apple cider vinegar - Cider vinegar for weight loss
June 6, 2008 3:50pm CST
I just stepped on some web pages which advocated on weight loss and numerous other health benefits on having apple cider vinegar, either in liquid form or tablets...Do they really work?In my life,i had never used it in my cooking either...but tried to have a spoonful mixed in water at a friend's place..and it tasted horrible... For the few months,i have gained few pounds around my waist and am planning to get back into shape...will this help me.I do workout regularly, but for the past few months my work schedule is little more tight, and i couldnt spend much time on working out, though i make it a point to workout daily for around 30 min to an hour.. what do u folks say..ever tried it?

My grandma and my mom both have said that taking an oz shot of apple cider vinegar along with water (although tastes nasty) does help with weight loss. It takes a long time for it to help regulate sort of speak to help you lose the weight. Personally I have never tried it but after hearing my surgeon today he wants me to shed a few pounds over the next little while I am willing to try them out.

Hi venkat. I had tried it once just to lose about 2 pounds to keep my weight since sometimes I increase it a bit. I drink every day at morning one tablespoon in water for one month and I have to say that for me it doesn't work. I did not lose nor a grama. What I did after this was drink 3 times a day extract of fuccus visiculosus (1 tablespoon in water). It have a horrible taste but really work because the fuccus is very rich in iodine. Good luck

I prefer to try ACV than fucus, cozven if it does no good, its no harm either...whereas fucus has many side effects like hyper thyroidism, increased pulse rate and BP.Side effects Source:Wikepedia

I haven't tried it for weight loss but I have tried if for lowering cholesterol. It worked for that. I never really paid attention to if it helped with losing weight although i have heard it does. I had to resort to taking the capsules because i couldn't stand taking a tablespoon of the liquid stuff it just didn't taste right to me.

my cousin bought apple cider vinegar to cure his ear problem (it is kinda watery)but I do not know if it was effective. Last time I heard, he went to a real doctor for some real prescriptions. However, I read from internet and from some home remedy books that it can cure so I bet it is okay if there is an apple cider vinegar in your kitchen closet. Just be sure you know how to use it.

Hi Venkat, sorry to hear you have an expanding waistline. I guess you have to squeeze a few hours on workout, otherwise it will expand beyond your control. Luckily, my own expanding waistline is under control now, and it is rapidly contracting thanks to my active lifestyle. Sorry I don't have many weight loss tips for you. I can only tell you what helped me lose weight. -Drinking lots of water. -keeping one dog and two cats. -Doing the hard household cleaning up myself -working in the garden -taking the dog for long walks twice a day. I wonder if you can use my methods. :) So, you have to find methods that fit your way of life. Cheers and wish you all the best!

Hi venkat2002! I really haven't tried that since I really don't have the will power to carry out any diet plans my whole life. haha.. I have heard about that with a friend and she said that she just tried it for two days and didn't continue to do it anymore. Take care and God bless!

I've tried it before. I mixed 1 tablespon in some kool aid and drank it. I could have swore it gave me energy. Theres this 1 old fitness guru who sells those juiceing machines. He said he mixes apple cider vinegar with some honey every morning and it gives him lots of energy to start his day.

i haven't tried it. just wanna share this to you, i read an article a few months ago by a weight/fitness instructor discussing that Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) didn't lose weight because of apple cider. apparently, Fergie had mentioned in interviews that apple cider was the reason why she lost weight. Fergie lost weight because of her daily exercise, even if it is only as short as 30 minutes a day or as long as 3 hours, if she does it daily, the tendency is to gradually lose weight, her muscles will tighten and fats will be eliminated from daily exercise. she could have decrease her appetite after drinking apple cider since it tastes bad, thus her decrease in food intake contributes to her weight loss.
