E-mail from FreeLotto. Unbelievable, literally.

I joined FreeLotto a week ago and the day after I played, I got this e-mail saying that I won $300 and $10,000 and I have to click on the link they sent and verify my pin. So I did. But on the second part of the verification process, I have to put my ATM/Debit Card number and have to pay like $1.99 every month. So I just ignored it. And now, I've been receiving that same e-mail every day. Saying that it's urgent that I verify, blah blah. Attached in their e-mail is a list of the winners and my name is just highlighted with my "supposedly payment".
I'm totally confused. I need to pay before I get the money? I though it was FREELOTTO? Like FREE to play so I just tried it that ONE TIME.
Has anyone played in FreeLotto? Shed some light on me.

Hi marababe,
If you're even 1/10 as smart as you look, you'll understand that the people running the Free Lotto thing are just a bunch of crooks who want your money.
Number One Rule - NEVER pay ANYONE for an "opportunity", because they will take your money and give you nothing in return.
These Free Lotto scamsters have tried to put an extra twist on it - the "opportunity" is to get the "prize" that you have "won", and they want you to pay for that. But there's nothing there - they are just trying to convince you to give them money, for something that you will NEVER get.
Just remember that rule, and you won't go wrong - NEVER pay ANYONE for an "opportunity", no matter how convincing they try to be.

it may be scam ...
Why asking for PIN and Credit Card number and why to pay $ 1.99 every month. When you have won $ 300 and $ 10,000 they must give it without asking for any money.

Listen, this is a scam as I ever seen one. Do not give them your info at all 1)you will be billed every month for this fee of 1.99 2)You'll never recieve that winning money and3)have you heard of Identity theft. If you live in the US or anada you should have Prepaid Legal membership. Contact me if you don't.

Looks like it's a scam to me.. If it's free and it's somehting that u have won, so y do u need to pay again, $1.99 every month again?? Cant they just deduct from the supposingly winnings and send u the rest?? Even so, they could send u a cheque instead of asking for debit/credit card number..

Yes I think its a scam. I can tell you a site that I actually won $250 on. Its called netwinner.com. Its free to play and you don't have to give any banking info. They just mailed me a check. Now it did take them longer than it was suppose to for them to get me my check and since winning this I haven't been able to do very good with it. Most of the players get gift certificates to Walmart and places like that, starting at $25. That builds up after you play for awhile. I just happen to win the $250 on a single spin. I didn't expect that. I quit playing after a while though cause it got to where I wasn't winning anything and I just got bored with it.

I have been receiving this unsolicited mails from them too. I tried to sign-up just for the heck of it. At first, it seems like they wouldn't really collect anything. After about two more emails, I was already being asked to pay a certain amount. That was when I decided not to continue with this thing.

I've joined free lotto. Yes I received by mail winnings like $1 (only) . It is not free. you have to be a member with a monthly fee so you can send your lotto numbers for free. Yes, I still get those emails with yellow highlights on my name with amounts that is my winnings. The truth is you have not won yet. you have to choose your numbers, pay the membership and if you are lucky, you win. Since you already paid your first month, you dont have to pay again. If you really won, send an email to their customer support. I know they will mail it but maybe not if the amount is big.but those highlighted ones, those are games wherein they entered your name but you have not won yet..you call that marketing strategy.

Hi there marababe!
I am afraid the mail just like you said that pay first and get lots money later. It is totally a scam.
Well, If someone will give us money, why they need us to pay them fist.
e.g. they will pay me $1000 after I pay them $10, but why don't them give me $990 instead?

i think it is a scam... i never believe in those types of email and i just delete them as soon as i receive them... especially if they are asking for my bank details... there is no way i will give it to them... it is too risky to do that nowadays with all the scams out there... take care and have a nice day...

They should change their name to PAYLOTTO. I think it's another one of those things that makes big promises, and you never get anything in return. I would stay away if I were you. If you want to play the lotto, I would spend the 2 bucks on a ticket in your area. At least you know that somebody has a chance to win.

FreeLotto is a nasty scam. they get you to pay $1.99 a month
with all this crap about winning 300 and 10.000 then one month
they will take out nine dollars from your account so finally to'
stop them from just taking out whatever they wish I had to
change my debit card number. they are just a scam so do not'
get involved with them at all. they just want your money.

I can't emphasize this enough DON'T DO IT!! Please, don't fall for this scam! Think about it. They want your credit card number? If this was really legit then they would need no such thing because after all you are a " winner" and if you win anything that is legal there is no need for them to ask you for a credit card number.. REALLY!!
