It’s Time to Cut My Time on Mylot!

I have been member of mylot for more than a year now. Since my family left, it was tough to pass my time when I wasn’t in University or with my off-line friends; I also needed some extra money. My brother had mentioned this site, so in hope to achieve both purposes I joined. Though I was disillusioned about the money part very soon, LOL! As I was able to make 70 times more money per hour, off-line, than I could ever make here, but there were two things that kept me here…my friends and the learning potential.
During whole last year, except for a short break, I have been swimming in the Mylot Ocean, going to different interest categories and reading a lot. I have the pleasure to know people from many different places and befriending them. At the same time, I have learned a lot, from real people, about different countries, cultures and places.
I have learned about how people think and do things in different parts of the world. What preferences they have, how they perceive things, their thinking process and the methodologies they adopt to form an opinion, what they rely on to make their minds and what they don’t trust, what values they hold dear, the problems they commonly have, how they tackle it and how they react, how closely knit or individual a population is, what pronounced as well as subtle differences are within same cultures and countries. All these have been subjects of my studies, reading and learning here. It has been a great, delightful and enriching educational experience.
Now, due to a little redirection in my work and final year of my doctoral studies approaching, I am seeing that I’ll not be able to continue the activity that I so loved to do here. My work needs more of my attention, now even at home. A part of my ‘roaming around activity’ was to go to my friends’ discussions to read about updates in their lives, whether or not I responded. Yesterday, I embarrassed myself by missing a very important update in a very dear friend’s life. While I didn’t feel good about missing it, I feel that I can miss many more in future.
So, I thought to make a discussion to let my friends know that I don’t have the luxury of much free time now and that please don’t get angry if I am not as informed about you people as I have been before. I know all of you are very understand, you have always been, but still I thought to state my case. I am not leaving, however. I do will, though, around this time next year. I’ll try to come as often as I can. Those who have read up to this line deserve my salute for their patience!:-)
Have you ever had to leave or cut time on one of your favorite activities just because ‘you have to’, for some of your basic ‘responsibility’?

My Handsome Kamran, You know that I do often get to busy to be here as much as I like to, so I fully understand your dilemma. Please rest assured that when you are not here you will be missed and when you can be your company and presence will will be embraced with joy. I am very proud and honored to call you my friend. Even if it is just a hello, how are you here or in email, I so enjoy your company. So you do what you need to then come share with us your triumphs..... Always in my thoughts.

Best of luck with your new path! My best wishes for you on your journey. Last Christmas, I left MyLot for nearly five months. It was not unpleasant to be away from MyLot, but I did miss all my friends. I came back, because i needed a little extra money.
But, I have made many new friends that will keep me here. I am happy that they are paying better now, than they were last year.

Thank you beautyqueen for well wishes, I appreciate. I have left mylot for a couple of months late last year, but those were special circumstances. Now, as it appears, I wouldn't be able to be as active as I have been before. Friends are a treasure and I won't forget them even if I leave from here for good:-)

Oh Kamran, I am with you.I used to cut time on Mylot many times. I do have a lot to do in my life.
In fact, I painted entire bedroom this morning.
I don' watch TV, so internet and Mylot is not taking much more time than for other people to watch TV and simple waste their time.
I have very busy schedule, but MYlot is helping me to understand people from different countries and different cultures.
It also helps me on daily living to make may decisions in many fields.
It is not for money, because I can make much more off line.
The only problem is than we are just humans and we get tired.
When I am tired and I have time for relax, talking to online friends makes me feel better.
Today my goal is to finish my bedroom and clean after painting.
I am done with first coat, I have to wait and finish it later. It is Sunday and most people are taking time off.
I am going to see few friends this week and do a lot of work for my business. At my time off I will finish my remodeling and I am going to be on Mylot from time to time.
I do understand your point. After all we often need changes in our life and our daily schedule.
Responsibility are always coming first.
Take care,
HUGS

Thank you for asking about my mother.
Her condition is not going to get better, it will get worst over the time.
I work hard to make sure she is maximum comfort. I am talking to her everyday.
If she is at the point when needed 24 hours care than I am going to be with her all the time.
I am making money to make sure I can afford not to work for while.
I also talk to her doctor every other day.
I have to say that Mylot is helping me during my very difficult time.

I am really sorry about the condition of your mother, pola, I would just say that I believe in miracles, though not as the common belief is, so I think I would just say that she finds peace, whether she continues to live in this world or go to another, better world. You and she will be in my prayers, pola!

It appears you have been and are a lot busy yourself, pola. I hope your painting is finished now. Although you still would be busy as it seems. How are you and your mother? Both of you have been in my thoughts. Responsibilities are just that, responsibilities, we have to do them no matter what, as we should be doing. Thank you for your supportive words:-)

My dear friend. I understand completely your need to focus more on your 'off the lot' life. The same thing is happening to me. I miss my interaction here, and do surf late at night, but just don't have the time to post and post again as I used to. Things will quiet down for me in the fall when the tourist season here in town is over, but for now, no worries from me if I don't see you that often, because you guys aren't seeing much of me either! LOL
You have my email addy and I hope to hear from you as often as you can that way. I do try to check my emails at least once a day now, but don't have time to answer them all right away. YOU however, are always a priority! Hugs and good luck in your off line endeavours.

I'm checking in when I can. It will be fall though before I've more time. Summer is a busy affair here with the tourists and all that needs to be done to make the town more attractive to them. But it's fun and I wouldn't miss it for the world. I look forward to getting your emails, just don't be worried if I don't get back to you right away. I hardly touch my computer these days! lol

Certain mylot users would have to do that because they have much more important things to do. They would definitely revisit mylot at their convenient time and surely many members would respect their decision whether to cut back time or even quitting mylot permanently or even going away temporarily, etc. I did not visit Mylot everyday as I am quite busy with work and family life and I only visit when I got spare time. I feel it's good to be back at Mylot after long absence as not more than a month ago I just returned to Mylot after like 5 months of absence because of personal problem. It is wise for you to cut back your time on Mylot as you got much more important things in your life. I can fully understand your reasons and we all know that we got to spend our time outside the world of Mylot. I wish you all the best and take care. Cheers and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for wishing, kind words and understanding, jhartana! I did take a leave of about couple of months from here but it was temporary and I knew that I'll be returning. This time, however, although I will be coming as often as I can but I know that it would never be as before. But, that's life and we have to move on. Thanks again, for your kind words:-)

I think everybody is busy, diansinta, though not in same kind of activity, as I was saying before that when I wanted to find something to pass my time, I found mylot. And, it sure has been a great experience, and the friendships are a treasure to cherish. I'll be visiting mylot as often as I can to keep in touch with my friends here. My wife? LOL! I talked to her once and she rejected the idea straightaway, LOL. She thinks that it's waist of her time. She is a doctor and a mother, already much busier than myself:-)

You really rock as friend!...however, compared to you, I feel like a heel. LOL! I am embarrassed to admit that I don't really check out updates and the pages of my 'friends'. All I do is open email, check out the discussions alerted to me and respond to those that interests me, then after responding, i just move to another discussion alert. He he he! I can't really do more than that because it is so time consuming. I did promise myself that I would try looking at my friends profile pages but I just never got the time and whatever time I have is spent on responding to discussions. Like you, I used to spend a lot of time here but I also had to limit my time here eventually because of other commitments and responsibilities. I am glad that you are not leaving and I look forward to seeing your discussions and responses here from time to time my friend.

Wow! that's a long article that you wrote. I was able to read through it. It's good you were able to use the information you have gather here at mylot. That's true we have a lot of different cultures and places and each of us has it's own way of doing thing, that's make us unique to each other.
I know it's hard to leave something you are familiar with and love to do, but priorities changes and it's time to go. Nothing is permanent in this world, so it is best to enjoy it while you can. You don't know what tomorrow bring so it's best to make the best of the situation. I know you'll find new friends and activities to do and mylot will be another challenge and experience you have done. If you have time please drop by mylot and sent a discussion or two so we may know how are you doing after mylot. Good luck.

Yes, that was long and thank you for reading it, robert19ph. Yes, this site is one of best educational tools, for learning and cherishing cultural and social diversities, for anyone who pays attention. You are right that priorities change and they have to, life is a moving phenomenon, stagnation means lifelessness. I won't forget my friends from here, even though I leave for good, and I'll still be coming back as often as I can but not as much as I have been. Thank you for reading, understanding and kind words:-)

A person's life should change the whole way through. It should never be static. I have never been one to make fast friends because I knew that my life would soon carry me elswhere. Now illness prevents me from doing the same.
I still challenge life and will until I no longer can. You are young and must do so even more. Friendship is a luxury and it is a lot of work. Most people do not do it well. At least you have tried and are aware of your limitations.
Go and conquer your world. Learn as much as you can and make it a little better for those who are yet to come!

Yes, life isn't constant and stagnant, Adoniah, as it shouldn't be. If it's not moving, it isn't life. Mylot itself has been a great learning experience for me. I could never understand few things in as much depth as I do now, only because of Mylot's multinational and multicultural environment. I don't forget my friends, however, and will keep in contact with them, at least with few. Thanks for your words of support:-)

hello my bro kamran !
hope you doing good :) well! its good that you wrote about your reason for not coming on mylot frequently..if i had not read your this topic then i would been thinking that may be you aint replying or something like that.
Though there are times when you had to quit or skip for sometime your favourite activity but its necessary, setting priorities on a specific time is a optimistic sign.
There are times when you had to manage your time,so giving your work and activities right priorities actually help you out to manage you time in a most balanced way.
you are doing absolutely right, right now if you feel your work and other stuff except mylot is important for you then you should definately go for it,and if your friends are really understandable then they wont mind if you do so.
They can understand and compromise afterall you have been too nice with them..but i hope that you will be checking mylot as soon as you get free :)
I myself aint got time to join mylot again for a month, and now when i am back i am feeling i have been lost and broken from the mylot chain, everything is just new for me.
I am not a old user like you,you have joined it year ago and when you will be leaving it obviously you will be missing it.
Due to my studies i also hardly get time to use pc,and when i am all day busy in my study stuff i really miss my activities on net, initially it feels bad but once you leave your activities afer some time you come in to a routine and it aint urges you.
anyways ...you have created a bond with mylot users and it takes time to become normal with it.
Take care !
