Tax Rebate check didn't come

Some of you may have seen my post about getting a letter telling us our rebate check was due to arrive by June 6th. I thought it was a stupid waste to send out a letter when we'd obviously know when we received our check.
Well, I guess it might have been a good thing afterall because we have not gotten the check yet. If we hadn't gotten the letter we might not have been looking for it yet. But now we know that it's already late and if it doesn't arrive soon we'll know to start looking for it.
I heard from people who received their checks early but has anyone gotten them late?

Well let me know when you do get yours and I'll do the same for you. Since ours are on the same schedule...if one of us doesn't get it in the next couple days then we'll know something is up. Our mail carrier is lazy so we have problems just about every week.

I haven't gotten mine yet either. What is one to do if it doesn't come by the end of the summer? I suppose I could call The Shrub and tell him he forgot to pay me. I could really use that cash to pay a hefty credit card bill.

It seems like most every body gets a letter telling them when it's due to arrive...although some have not gotten the letter until after it arrived. As you can tell by this discussion those letters aren't 100% accurate. There is also a website you can go to that can tell you approximately when your should arrive. They are being sent out based on the last two numbers of your SS#

I bet you will get it on Monday. My aunts letter come and said she should get hers on Friday May 23rd but it didn't come until the following Monday so look for it on Monday. I have two weeks to wait for a check yet.

Thanks for the reassurance! The mail right here locally is slow sometimes too. We're practically the last ones on the route and they tend to get lazy about getting us our mail on time....and sometimes they don't even sort this road correctly and all the neighbors have to go back and forth trading our mail.

That's good though, I was excited thinking it would be here on Friday but since several of you have had late ones I'm feeling much better. Waiting 4 or 5 extra days isn't a big deal considering it's been this long already!

Well, that wasn't good for you but I'm glad to here it! Another late check really is reassuring. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day...actually it would be perfect, s/o will be off Tuesday to Sunday so we'll have the money and he'll be around to actually put it to good use.

I got my check about a month late and it was not for the correct amount either.I had to send an ammendment for them to send me the rest.My son's check was mailed twice, but to the wrong address. Now they are saying that he has to wait 4 more weeks. Two weeks for the change of address to take effect, again and two more weeks to cut him a new check, for the third time. They are costing the taxpayers money,by screwing up.

Sorry to hear that you also are having problems with the rebate. I had a feeling from day one the whole thing was going to go... "craptacularly" (sorry I was fumbling for words but I decided on getting a chuckle out of you Foxy).
I've got mine but its more likely it'll go to needs instead of "economic stimulation" -_-

I like "craptacularly", it is most fitting! And I also needed the chuckle. We won't be doing too much "stimulating" with it either. Other than a swing set and little pool (which I'm considering as needs at this point), alot of it will probably just get eaten up by bills and gas prices.
