i have two cats, one is about 7 months and the other is about 2 months... the older one, besides kicking his toosh and chasing him around the house, will clean him.. is this normal behavior? they'll be in the middle of playfighting and the older one starts licking him and cleaning him. yup these are my first cats, so i'm a lil unsure as to their behavior patterns.. any help telling me if this is totally normal..
thanks!

Yes, it's normal. It's pack behavior. Sometimes that's even a way to express that they are the superior one in the pecking order of the pack. My cats groom each other all the time.

To my knowledge it is very normal for a cat to clean themselves and sometimes even other cats. They are actually one of the easiest animals to take care of since they do clean themselves and have their litter box that they "go" in. Just feed and water them, love them, and keep their litter box clean.

That is a very normall thing for them to do. You've probably heard that before. When my cats do it I see as a sign of affection and that they like eachother.

Some cats are more "licky" than others too. I have a pair of brothers that LOVE to be licked and will lick others, but mostly each other. But only when one breaks down and starts, other wise they are trying to get the other one to lick them.
Timus is very licky, he'll groom other cats. Solo and Taj won't lick other cats, tho they keep themselves clean.

Yes it's perfectly normal and it's a pact thing. Something that the mother cat has taught them to do from the time they were born. Also, please get them fixed especially the 7 month old because he could (male or female?) start spraying or go into heat real soon. It's always best to have them fixed between 4 and 6 months old. I have, at the moment, 9 cats and 3 dogs and every one of them are fixed. Don't need anymore than I already have and besides, the world doesn't need anymore in shelters, right?

Aren't they just so sweet. I only have one cat and he won't clean anyone but himself! I do have a dog that believes she is part cat though, and she 'fleas' the cats head all the time. The cat will even head-butt the dog to get her to flea his head! He loves it. BUT only from that dog. Another pup came to live with us and thought he would flea the cat's head as well, but he learned fast enough that he was not welcomed! LOL
