Do you like home made soups or soups that come in packets in the store?

I always make soup myself from scratch. I think most soups at the store are too processed, don't taste very good, and have way too much salt. I love to make soup because you can throw it all together in one pot and just let it cook...easy, tasty, and healthy.

I like both kinds of soups. It all depends on what kind of soup it is as to whether I like it store bought or homamde. I like to eat canned chicken noodle and tomato soup. I like to fix my own vegetable, potato and bean soup though. I make it taste alot better and I use my own ingredients for them.

I don't like store bought soup except for tomato soup. When I'm not feeling good I like chicken soup made fresh at home with veggies and noodles. I love beef stew as well.

I make soups many ways. First boil the bone of any meat you have eaten. Put double the amount of water as the bone is in. Cook it down to half. If you eat vegetarian or vegan, then buy the soup broth in cans for vegans/vegetarians or use the broth from something you've made recently.
Second, add noodles or rice (or whatever grain), cook as long as the instructions say or you just know to be good.
Third, add fresh or frozen veggies. Turn down the temp to simmer, cover the pot, and simmer 15 minutes. Taste. If needs to cook longer, than do that. Often tastes better the next day. If it doesn't then add tomato juice or whatever you want to make the broth have zing.
For variation, lentils could be added, precooked, in step 3. Curry could be added instead of tomato juice later on.
I also sometimes add pepper, and herbs like oregano, etc.

I'm not a very good soup maker so I buy them from the store. My grandmother though makes amazing chicken soup. I don't have her recipe though. Sigh...

I think home made meals/dishes always taste better, I make Pumpkin soup Minestrone and Chicken soups I always like making mine with dumplings.. but If Im home by myself and I feel like some soup I just go for the cup of soups in the packets from the store its much quicker and easier!

I prefer home made soups, but if it is cold outside, I'm not feeling well, or I just am in the mood for soup and I don't have to time to make up a batch myself then I do open up a can or a box of soup. I would have to say that the Campbell's soups that in the box are a little tastier than the ones in the can. Now, if I want Tomato soup then I always use the Campbell's canned Tomato soup and add milk instead of water. I could not make Tomato soup like that from scratch. Now if it is vegetable beef soup then I like to make that from scratch. Also, potato cheese soup is horrible from the can and it only tastes good if it is homemade.
