Your very first principal is a biblical one! I believe in God because he has intervened in my life in ways that are unmistakeable. They are private issues and I will not share them I hope you understand. Thing is you have asked for proof that God exists and I ask for your proof that he does not. The battle will rage on until the end of time about this very question. As for your questions on misery it is man who perpetrates misery on this world, I dont think there is much that you can look at in this world that man is not ultimately responsible for messing up. Even, if you believe scientists, the weather is a result of our abuse of this planet. I am always curious why someone who does not believe wants to hear from those who do? Are you looking for better ways to convince people that what you believe is right? Why did you ask?

Such a shame. Clear evidence of the Creator has been presented to you; and while you have no evidence to the contrary, yet you continue to defiantly declare, "There is no God!" Denial never helped anyone, nor will it help you.

I do nothing by myself, but with the strength of the Lord. The Bible predicts this "new age karma" and that people will fall for it. If you read the Bible, you will get it. It gives you new eyes. God has always opened doors for me, and now that I am older, I see where He took care of me when I was not taking care of myself. If karma worked, I'd be in big trouble.

By the way, "You reap what you sow" is from the Bible. The devil uses just enough truth to deceive people just as the Bible predicted. I pray the best for you.

Hey Thanks for response! Jesus christ was God I know he was enlightened! What people do praying ,idol worship ,rituals are all i don know what i don't believe such things ok. See when you pray in front of christ, u feel a sense of satisfaction, solace and peace of mind. See man cannot reveal all his secrets, problems, pain he undergoes to everyone and man is subjected to misery. No man is happy and contented, everyone will have some or the other problem. Can you go on telling everyone, no not possible at all. This is the reason man started going to temple, church etc. The same SELF the SOUL christ had is in you too. You have all the potential to become God, to attain to salvation through the process of meditation. Thanks for Wishes, My Best wishes To You, Regards Ramya

When you say we can become God, what do you mean. Do you mean enlightenment? If you get enlightenment you're just a saint not a God. I shouldn't even be saying "a God" because there is only One. If you can become "a God" you're saying there's so many gods out there right now. That's silly.

Amazing! I thought you were an atheist, Ravenladyj. As it were, your belief sounds similar to mine. While I like the story of Christ, and my mind is open to it; the only thing of which I am convinced is a Creative Intelligence. I don't give this Being a name, gender, form, or persona. I usually say "God," or "Him," but only because that's what I'm used to saying. I believe in this Creative Intelligence because of biochemistry, anatomy, biological symbiosis, the fossil record, karma, and personal experience with the "paranormal." There may be more than one Spirit responsible for creation and karma, and if there is, that's fine with me. Until I know more, I call myself a monotheist.

I think that better example here is what force created universe? This huge around us and this very small from which we are made of. The world is a beautiful, genius and really very big place. It must have a creator. If you believe that it was created from nothing then you belie in miracles, hehe. Quite funny paradox. I respect those which faith is diffrent, your faith is to believe in yourself and the humanity. It's a good way to live too... but as all of us believers... you will never know if you are right or not. You must have faith in your believings. Have faith in your religion. So I think that we aren't much diffrent, hehe. What do you think?

I asked this question to one of my mentors. He just celebrated his 92nd birthday and still has a really active mind and still goes to work every day. This was his reply and it really made me think! He said: "If there was no God, what's the point of being good?" Be abundant. Tim

-LOL- [RANT] If you want to hear from us SOO badly, why's it come up that each time you hear from a believer, you feel the need to AGAIN re-iterate you statement that there is no God? Okayyyyy.... You REALLY think saying it again and again will make you right? Sorry hon. It makes you look like you're attempting to recruit atheists. Why do you need to do that? Because you think that if there's enough cheers from the peanut gallery, it'll make you right? That just makes you look CLOSED MINDED and VERY bad. Try tolerating someone without the futile debunking. FREE SPEECH FOR THE WIN!! I'm honestly not trying to debunk you. I think everyone has a side of the story. -Phew- [/Rant] THAT aside, I will attempt to outline what I believe. I don't associate with any established religions (they're as bad as a corrupt gv't for the most part, in my opinion). I do believe that there is a God, but he has stopped showing himself to us (Read: WHERE ATHEISTS COME FROM)because of all the sinners, and has been gone since Adam and Eve. I believe there is a devil, Lucifer, who got cocky and got kicked out of Paradise for treason and now tries to drag others with him. I believe in Intelligent Design; God began small and worked up, giving everything on earth a little push sometimes. Eventually he made a being in his own image. EPIC WIN!! Until they messed up!! The Bible just chronicles what happened, so I haven't READ it. -Lol- God and Lucifer are preparing for their last war, which all believers will take part in. (Righteous to the right, sinners to the left please. Yeah, stay off that line. KTHXBYE) Even though nobody will win. Like cat/dog, spider/fly, fox/hound. In the end, the body count's the same. They're ultimately equal. We keep free will in the present, and are essentially religiously anarchic. We govern ourselves and choose the path of the righteous or the path of the sinner. The powers are recruiting us. Stay Atheist if you want outta Armageddon, but I honestly want IN! You'll end up in middle-realm (WANT BETTER WORD PLZ) or worse, Limbo. O_O -shudder- Limbo...If you're bad. Either way, I believe that you should follow a good, honest set of ideals. Be just to everyone, and teach others to be just. Even if it means being mean for a second.=] I GOT IT ALL WRITTEN!!! WOO-HOOO!!! Thanks for letting me vent that! AND ROCK OUT!! \m/ Becky Ann (on a sugar rush)

HEY Thanks for response, My discussions goes like, that i don't belive in the existance of any God. God word itself is just an illusion created by man to get some solace from his restless life. Not even one mylotter is ready to prove that He exists , instead they are demanding me only to prove his existence, where in am repeatedly telling that he is just a man made illusion. Only one of you go ahead and give me one proof of his exixtence. Regards

10 Jun 08
One more thing, the mere existence of this universe, all the galaxies and planets including ours is one of the solid proofs that God really does exist. And i tell you not even the most brilliant scientist in this world can explain and elaborate how "EVERYTHING" started and came to being just by using those bunch of theories and assumptions.

Man is the greatest creation of God. Man does have a soul but isn't a soul as we are flesh and blood. I'm glad you believe in yourself, if you do, your self confidence will grow and you can achieve more than you would have thought possible. But there are also 6 billion+ souls on the planet, and how did they come into existence in the first place?

That's all well and good, and you have every right to believe as you wish.... so do I.... and I do believe in God, and the Truth of Jesus Christ revealed to us in the Holy Scriptures. If you do not, so be it... but it is my hope and prayer that you will also realize the Truth before it's too late for you to change your mind and heart. Because that day will come when you will be confronted with that undeniable Truth, and it will be too late for you to change your mind. I'm not trying to scare you or anything... I am merely stating the spiritual facts. Have a blessed day.

I believe very strongly in the Creator of the universe for many reasons. Two of the foremost reasons are the theory of irreducible complexity and my interaction with the "paranormal." An old version of my testimony can be found here (see my second post under response #22): http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1457432.aspx?p=3 A bit more has happened since then (as well as prior events I can't recall), but I haven't gotten around to starting a blog or anything. In my view, nothing happens unless someone/something makes it happen. Why is this universe full of cosmos and life, when it could much more easily be completely empty? Why did inanimate objects and chemicals see fit to organize themselves? Hint: They didn't. If you are a sound-minded individual, you realize that, when you hit your shoulder or elbow against a wall while turning a corner, it was your own mistake; the wall did not jump out and hit you. Likewise, dumb molecules and chemicals do not possess an unconscious will to organize themselves; they are being guided somehow by unseen forces. It is taught in schools that intelligent laws are governing the evolutionary process of natural selection. Yet as soon as one adds the concept of consciousness to these laws, atheistic minds snap shut. You happen to believe in karma, and apparently also in supernatural powers as possessed by humans. Why is it okay by you for humans to possess supernatural powers, while God is a big no-no? And why also is intelligent law acceptable, while Intelligence is not? What's the big difference? Atheists do not like the idea that there are powers greater than themselves, because it puts them at the mercy of these powers (others deny God out of anger, either toward God or religious people collectively). Whether the story of Adam and Eve is true, the moral of the story is that man's first sin was wanting to be their own God. Like it or not, there are powers right here on earth that are greater than you are; they're called natural disasters. Okay, now it's your turn. Why do you not believe in God?

Hi, I do not believe man is the ultimate being (again, the original sin of wanting to be our own God). For all we know, there could be aliens with technology far greater than our own. And besides, I have interacted with the numinous since becoming a believer; seeing is believing. Thanks for the compliment about enlightenment, but I have reason to believe that I have already been enlightened. As far as potential goes, Einstein himself was a deist. While he didn't believe in a personal God, he did believe an Intelligent Force was responsible for the initial design of the universe. The unfortunate ones are those who are confined to knowing only what they can see with their own two eyes. Hint: You can't see energy, yet you know it's there by its actions. Same scenario with God. 'Life has given me so much, that not even one miracle has happened in ma life.' I'm sorry, but I don't exactly know how to respond to this sentence. It doesn't make sense to me. If anything, it sounds like a preemptive attempt to ward off religious people from asking you something like, "Isn't it miraculous what life has given you?" BTW, I was hoping you would provide evidence to support your declaration that man is the ultimate being. If you have any, I would like to read it. Until then, thanks for the comment.

Firstly, Thanks for response. I don't blieve in any God , Man is the ultimate, after births and births based on deeds and actions done by us we take birth as human soul. You have the same potential which were in great enlightened men and you could become one. Life has given me so much, that not even one miracle has happened in ma life.

Hi Ramya, "God" has interested me right from childhood. I have prayed very hard, asked for guidance, and so on and so forth like many religious people do. And well, I am sorry to say that life had always been a disaster. It stopped being a disaster and some semblance of sanity entered into things when I stopped believing in an external being "UP THERE" like I have been taught all my life. God became Self--a powerful force deep within, and I can't explain it better than that. For me, God is personal. I have no religion. I can't get rid of my belief in God for some reason that I don't know. But I certainly don't believe in the Christian or Islamic God or some God of some man-made religion. When I need to talk to God, I just look within. I no longer "ask for guidance." I analyze things myself... I dunno if this sounds like spiritual arrogance, but I am, in truth, a very humble person. Cheers and thanks for this lovely discussion.

Yeah same here! Earlier I used to believe in mythical Gods. but now I don't. Although I am a Hindu, I don't like to get typecast into any religion. I do believe in a supreme being or a supreme force. But that's in everything. He doesn't live only in temples, churches, mosques, gurudwaras only but in everything from the filthiest things to the most pleasant ones. God is nothing but your conscience. The more you are aware about yourself the more you are aware about him.
• India
10 Jun 08
Yeah! Thanks for response. There is no such thing as God ok. Don't feel sorry that life has been a disaster, most humans are in misery. Who does not have problems? What you say powerful force is your own soul. Human soul is the ultimate. After births and births based on our karmas we get human life. You are only God and have all the potential to become one. Regards.

Maybe you too feel this strong warm spirit inside of you that tells you that he loves you and that everything is going to be good? I must agree with you. A human beeing is a great achievement of evolution and really can do miracles. All you have to do is believe in yourself.

We humans have this gift of intellect and wisdom. We have the capacity to understand and conceptualize things more than any other living thing in this world. We have this desire to seek for knowledge and what would others call it, the "truth". The truth as to whether a God exists or not. So in this quest of ours in searching for the "truth", some of us are able to find it, while some unfortunately don't. Those who are unable to find it would end up believing in their own perception of the "truth" or of some other theory of other people about it in which i believe are entitled to be respected and be viewed without prejudice. So with regards to the question as to whether i believe in God, my answer would be a Big "YES". I do believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. I believe in the "TRUTH" that God exists. For many times i have experienced His presence and glory. The mere wonderful things that i experience each day, the challenges that i am facing, the mere people and things that surrounds me are already a proof that God exists.

Poverty in India has nothing to do with any spiritual form. Poverty is caused by mismanagement of resources and poor governmental decisions, back by decades of greed and corruption. I live in The Philippines which has similar social problems to India, I teach wealth creation to my students to help them get out of poverty. Even when I do it for free, most of the students will not let go of their poverty. They resist change and give every excuse why they should do what is required instead preferring handouts. Out of a population of over 85million I only have 30 students who can be bothered. Man himself chooses poverty and if you took the time to make a study of social issues, you would see what the root cause is. Can you tell this forum what you as a human are doing to help the poverty
