Before game 1 and 2 of the championships, I was so confident in the Lakers' ability to beat the Celtics. Moreover, I knew in my heart that Kobe can easily go against the big players of Boston. However, after the consecutive losses, it seems that I have underestimated the Celtics. Or rather, perhaps the Lakers and its MVP are just overrated. Not only did they score poorly against the Celtics, their defense and speed were also sub par. I don't know what's up with Kobe as well. His scoring has gone down since the playoffs. Hope fully, they'll be able to pull together three consecutive wins in the next few games. But what do you think? Are the Lakers overrated?

Lakers is a big team, but in my opinion, the Boston Celtics are underrated. There are many factors concerning this... one is that, they are an eastern conference team, in which, in this league (NBA) West teams are, most of the time, and in majority, called dominant. Also, The Big three craze was overshadowed by the recent trade of Pau Gasol, and it's effects... taking the West number one seed. This facts made the big three news, a puny one, Thus, making them underrated. another fact, is that everybody expected the Lakers to be this year's champ because of the anticipation... Kobe's season MVP, Phil Jackson's potential 10th Championship Ring. Their pressure is others' publicity.

hi mimico. i think the lakers are nto overrated. i think they are actually a good team with kobe, gasol, and odom. with a helthy bynum, they maybe a bit unstoppable as the frontline clearly compliments kobe and the other guards of la. however, let's take a look at the teams that la beat to get to the finals. they swept denver. denver isn't a defensive team at all. they think of changing their team name to enver nuggets because they have have no "d". they defeated utah in 6 games. utah hardly had any answer for kobe. ak guarded him well at times but aside from ak, no one in the utah roster guarded kobias effectively. next came san antonio. the spurs had bowen guarding kobe and bowen is a bit slow for kobe. spurs frontline had trouble keeping up with gasol and the rest of the aging spurs' guards, horry, stoudamire, barry and others are a step slow in making the right defensive rotations. now comes a really good defensive team in boston. kg, pierce, ray and tony allen, rondo, posey and the whole team plays moderately good defense individually. as a team though, they can be tougher than the great wall of china. aside fromt he fact that they make la paly defense at the other end of the court so that poses more problems for the lakeshow. the lakers will get a win at the staples center. maybe they even get three straight with boston's post season road record. problem is the series will return to boston no matter what happens. unless, kobe and the lakers find a way to win at boston, this series clearly belongs to boston on the basis of homecourt advantage. just my thoughts.

I am utterly disappointed too when the Lakers lost consecutively. It was like deja vu for me that year... While I was watching them go against detroit for the championship title... I thought at that time that they would easily beat them having such stars in their team. Then... they lost! Ugh! One of the biggest disappointments in nba history. Now Kobe's back to redeem himself. I've always been a Kobe fan and seeing him play like this feels like excitement is flowing like there's no tomorrow inside my veins. But man, they lost! And I haven't seen the usual thing he does. I just hope that it won't be a repeat of that time. LA is good team but Boston is a solid one too. Overrated or not, I'd still be cheering for them. They are two different teams and they have different weaknesses and strengths. ^^

One thing to look at is the discrepancy in free throw attempts. Lakers had 10 while the Celtics had 38. Something is wrong there. David Stern was at the game and should be embarrassed by that sort of officiating. When the studio commentators are bringing it up (Wilbon) then you know its obvious. Hopefully things will even out in LA, because if it was called fairly in game 2 there is no doubt in my mind that the Lakers would have won that game.

From today's game ,you will see Lakers is not be overrated.I just want to say umpire is one part of the game.In the game 1 and 2,the umpires are propitious to Celtics evidently.Certainly ,today the umpires are a little inequity to visiting team. But totally it's equity to both the teams.I still believe Lakers will win the Finals.

The Lakers are not overrated the Celtics might be a better team. The Lakers will make this into a series when it goes back to L.A. The Lakers will win two out of three in L.A. and go back to Boston.

I don't think Lakers are overrated. After all,it has KOBE.He is great.Though Lakers lost game 2,they still had oppotunity to win that game.We all saw that KOBE and his teammates did't give up in last six minites. They tried their best to catch up with Celtics.I think it's possible for Lakers to win the champion. However,Celtics played better since the playoff and even now championships. The big three players of Boston have shown their actual strength.
