It's quite normal for the adult human to not like or digest milk very well. I think http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose_intolerance It's a part of development that as the infant weans from the mother that it slowly stops being able to digest the mothers milk. This whole push to "drink milk" is a bit artificial on the part of the dairy lobby.

I've done a bit of research on lactose intolerance and it seems that while some sites seem to disagree over the importance of dairy in the diet, they all seem to agree that there are plenty of other natural sources of calcium:
green vegetables, broccoli, brussels sprouts, mustard greens, turnip greens, beans (pinto beans, black-eyed peas, and navy beans) as well as bean products, such as tofu are rich in calcium.
Theres also calcium fortified orange juice as well (which I drink a lot of, lol)
Soy milk is another alternative, unless you're just simply opposed to the idea of milk in general. Let me tell you, it took a bit of getting used to, but I actually like it a lot better now. Theres plain, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, and other flavors.
Good luck!

Milk contains a lot of protein which is good to your body and a lot of calcium which is good to your bones. So many people take milk regularly to make sure a better health.
I like milk, but till now I still do not form the habit to drink it everyday, for I think it is easy to bring weight to me. But after reture from the lab, I will drink milk to protect my body from being hurted by the chemistry.

Me, I can't sleep without first drinking milk. Milk has this certain component called tryptophan which helps you get to sleep. Maybe that's why I'm needing it since i kind of have sleeping disorders.
If you want enough calcium for your body or a substitute without having to drink milk or drink medicines, try eating 10 anchovies or any small fishes with backbones. As research claims, 10 small fishes= 1 glass of milk.
hope that helps

I think green veggies would be easier than anchovies. Or Soy milk, or calcium fortified orange juice. Anchovies, yuck! :-) (but then again, thats just my personal preference).
Also, doesn't turkey have tryptophan in it? You can get tryptophan from chocolate, bananas, mangos, dates, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, red meat, eggs, fish, poultry, sesame, chickpeas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, spirulina, and peanuts.

I also dislike milk. I will use it in cereal and on occassion drink a small cup with cake or doughnuts, but that is rare. My doctor says that chocolate milk is good and cheeses. He also told me to take calcium supplements to help because I do not get enough dairy.
Hope this helps.

I know there are a lot of people in the world who can't digest milk properly as adults. This is very common in people who are descended recently from the peoples of Asia and Africa. But, if you want to drink a milk-like substance, you can try lactose free milk, soy milk or rice milk. Lactose free milk will be the most like milk, but may cause some people problems. Soy milk is great, but has a little aftertaste. But, it comes in a variety of flavors that are pretty good. Rice milk is a little bit like milk and tastes good, but is more gray in color and watery.

I hate drinking it too. Imagine how hard it was for me when I was pregnant and my OB-gyne required me to drink at least 3 glasses a day. Anyway, a good substitute would be calcium pills like calcitrate or calcium juices like calciumade.

I don't like drinking milk either. I don't like the taste of it I never have. I can put it in things like cereal though so I get my calcium by using millk to cook with you can also get your calcium through milk products like cheese.

I don't really drink milk because i'm lactose intolerant. Although i tried drinking milk everyday before but my stomach gets upset as soon as i drink it. I was drinking milk for the nutrients that I shall be getting from it like calcium, and protien but I soon found out that if you are lactose intolerant, milk does you more damage to your body than the benefits you get from it.
If your purpose is to get the benefits of the nutrients from milk, I suggest taking calcium supplements or multi-vitamins in tablet form and maybe from other food sources like fruits and vegetables.
Many body builders drink soya milk in place of the real milk as a source of protein.
Regards!
