Smoking is a really hard habit to break. I've smoked 2 packs a day or more since I was 14. I want to try quitting mostly because I'm sick of spending so much money on cigarettes every week.
Unfortunatly the money is my only motivation at this time. Yes there are a lot of health reasons to quit, but the problem is I've been making arguments against the health risks in order to excuse my smoking, so my brain is still thinking along those lines.
I've been working on quitting for about a week now, and thus far have cut my smoking in half. I'm down to about a pack a day, and that alone is difficult, because I'm completely obsessed with when I can have my next smoke. I can't just sit and relax because I'll want to smoke, so I have to get up and do things all the time.
I want to quit without medication of patches or pills or any of that.. I just need to find the motivation to do it.
Are you or have you tried to quit? What is/was your motivation for quitting? How is it going?

Look at that website you gave me! I seen the stuff on there it grossed me out and I threw them away and have not toughed one since. I've been a bit crabby but I have kept busy and tried not to think about it. It's been a struggle but one well worth it. I think you just need to make up your mind.

I actually posted this a long time ago. I found that website I showed you while deciding to quit, but I never fully quit. I'm just not ready yet.

the main reason why i stop smoking was the risk of smoking, it is really a great danger to my health. 2nd reason was the money i spent on it everyday. if i save it i can buy one appliances in one year. 3rd reason is my conscience, it's about faith. i know it is hard at the beginning but you can do it. instead of smoking try yourself eat candies that can eliminate your saliva.

Maybe I am lucky that I haven't learned to smoke early in my life. I have seen so many who have tried quitting but failed simply because they were really not motivated to stop. I think it takes will power to really resolved yourself from quitting it and I admire you for doing something that would break this habit of yours. But it will be a long way to really say that you are over the habit already.

I've never smoked, so I can't really imagine where you are coming from. My other half smoked when I met him, but I asked him to give up when he moved in with me and I'm proud to say that he did.
I wish you the very best of luck with your efforts. Do post and let us know how you are getting on. Perhaps knowing that we are all waiting to hear how you get on will encourage you!
