Do you sleep with the lights on?

Some people love sleeping with the lights on. I'm not one of those people. I think that I fell asleep twice this past year with the lights on. But, that was only because I was so exhausted. Ordianarily, it has to be pitch black. And, even after I fall asleep, the tiniest bit of light wakes me up.
When my daughter was a baby, she demanded to sleep with the lights on. In fact, she'd shriek until the lights were turned on. And, then she'd settle down. As for me, I've never been able to sleep with lights on, not even a night light.
Do you sleep with the lights on? Do you wake up at first daylight? What's your best solution for sleeping when there is light in the room?

no, i can't sleep with the lights on... i have to sleep in total darkness like you... and just a small light also can wake me up... fortunately, my hubby is the same type of person as me... so we don't have any problem when it comes to sleeping... take care and have a nice day...

I cannot sleep with the lights on. It keeps me awake. I have to have a dark and very quiet room to fall asleep in. If I am really, really exhausted I can fall asleep with slight background noise but usually I cannot. I keep heavy curtains on my windows to keep out the morning sun. Otherwise, I would be up when the sun rose.

I am not of those people that love sleeping with light on either, I think it is a little weird, actually I can't sleep with a light on because even with my eyes closed I will still see a lot of light, once that I want to leave my web cam while I sleep and I have to leave my light on because I want a friend see me while I was sleeping that I did was cover my eyes with a scarf because I don't have a blind mask anyway with my scarf over my eyes it was like a blindfold and I that way I was able to sleep because otherwise I would not feel sleep, because I try it before and I just can't sleep, it was funny when I woke up because I didn't remember that my light were turn on and when i took off my scarf the light was so brighting that made me be like in sock trying to block the light with my hands, I remember that once I slept a night where a friend and I slept in his living room I was not able to sleep really good because light of the street come in and it made me keep wakening up at midnight, about being afraid I think I did to leave the light on because I was really afraid about a nightmare I had but that time I didn't cover my eyes I just sleep covering me with my sheet and then I was able to sleep at least knowing that the light were on, now thinking it is strange because with a natural light I am able to sleep and take a nap in the afternoon.

I go to bed with the lights out and since I am a terrible sleeper, I wake up an hour or two later and I can't go back to sleep. So I turn on the light by my bed and I read till I feel sleepy again, about 15 minutes usually. I lean over and turn off the light and go back to sleep till my next wake up, usually about 4 hours. If it is still early I read again with the light on till I get sleepy again. But on some nights I can't go back to sleep so easily and I have to read till I fall asleep, with the light on. On those nights I turn off the light when i get sleepy but then as soon as the light is off I am awake again and can't fall back to sleep. So I turn the light back on and read again and leave the light on and just let myself fall back to sleep. I am not a good sleeper, as you can tell from my response so I sleep when I can whether it is with the light on or off.

We have to have the lights on in the upstairs hallway as our kids tend to go to the toilet in the night and they have to come downstairs to go. They are petrified of the dark, I also have a 2 year old who more often than not will shout us in the night for milk. Or to be tucked in, or just because she likes to wake one of us up when we are fast asleep!
I find it hard to sleep with the light on and so I just shut the door so that I cannot see it.

We have a hall light and I did sleep with it on for awhile, then my daughter insisted that it be cut off. I try to leave the back bathroom light on. You can kind of see it from the hall and all the bedrooms, not enough to keep me awake. I can roll over and hide my eyes!

No, I have to sleep in total dark and quiet. I can not sleep with ny kind of light on. Sometimes if I fall asleep on the couch my wife will turn a light on to sleep, she says she uncomfortable sleeping with out me, and the last time she slept alone in the dark she had a freaky dream.

i love sleeping without light,
but light doesn't wake me up
if u have light in ur room then switch it off before sleeping if u don't like it :)
in that case have any cloth on ur eye,or move ur face towards ur pillow
u knw its a gud topic to fight with ur roomate
generally we experience this at our college days

Sleeping is one of the god's amazing gift,we can't purchase a pleasant sleep in our life,So we have to accept the nature sleep i.e if we are tired or awesome 100% we will get sleep,no need to bother about lights we can still sleep, because it is a gift.
think u will find answer

Nope. Can't sleep with the lights on unless I am extremely tired. I just got used to sleeping with the lights off. It's more relaxing and it really sets the sleeping mode on. The best solution for sleeping with the lights on if you have someone with you who can't sleep otherwise, put an eye mask, cover your eyes.

I sleep with the lights off. Not because I can sleep easier with the lights of but because of practicality reasons. Lights left turned on overnight waste a lot of energy. I could have used it more to useful things during the day. I only leave the lights on when I really have to during the night.

I don't sleep with the lights on but I can fall asleep with them on. I do like to sleep with the television on though I think it helps me fall asleep quicker, goodness knows why though. =)
