For many years people have tried to propose theories of what dreams actually are.The most famous of them of course is the one given by Sigmund Freud.Freud said that our dreams are repressed desires. He said that the mind is in constant fear of these socially unapproved desires and so channels it in the form of dreams.Do you accept this theory as true or do you think dreams are made of something else totally different?Do you experience your socially unapproved desires in the form of dreams?or even unfulfilled desires in your dreams?I believe that this is true most of the time. The rest of the time the mind is just getting rid of unnecessary data through our dreams. So its not always the case that Freud describes. What do you think of your dreams?

Dreams are no more than memories, when we sleep our brain and heart is still working although our brain is resting but still going(Just slower). So all our thoughts are mixed up and there is a probility that your dream will relate to an orginal thought or just using events that you have already experianced.
That's what I call a sleeping dream
But there's also a ambission dream which we want something to happen "I dream I was sitting on a beach" bit like a wish but as I said they dream because it's not the real world.

you know, Freud actually expressed his point from the angle of philosophy, one thing is for sure, our dreams indeed reflect our normal feelings day to day. But in scientific area, the question is that how dreams form is defined as the most mysterious part of our brain when we sleep. An article concerning neuroscience from "Sciam.com" I've read couple of years ago, it suggests our brains are even much busier than when we are awake because of dreams, in fact, every neural part of brain is very busy except "the logic center", which is a very crucial part that primarily leads to the formation of dreams, for, when the logic center is shut down, our minds have just released from the shackles of reasonableness, that's why we can create a lot of extraodinary images and incredible things during dreaming.

I think dreams are composed of some random images that you have thought and fantasized. But sometimes dreams are just mysterious. You dont know where they come from and why you have at the first place dreamt of them. I am not certain on anything about dreams, nobody does i think. Dreams are too powerful to be studied, it is also very mysterious to be given exact explanation. Dreams are relative. They can be anything. Dreams are i think a reminder that we are alive even we are sleep. I dream a lot of things. They are random in a sense. I cant find a pattern. But all i know, whenever I wake up most of these dreams are forgotten but some are retained.

I think dreams reflect what you thaught in the daytime. When you thaught something in the daytime, you will have a relative dream an night.I always have this experiences.Once one of my friends told me that the story in your dreams can happen in reality in the future. He wrote down every dream he ever had and until now, three stories in his dreams have happened in his real life.I think dream is an interesting thing!o(n_n)o...

Hmm... Freud whould be an interesting case for a good psychologist, hehehe. Just joking.
I think that we are dreaming to clear our mind from the unimportant memories of the day. We are dreaming too, couse when we are sleeping our mind is trying to solve our life problems. That's why some people like to sleep before make an important decision.

For me dreams are a way of escaping the world and entering a whole new one, even if I often forget it. It brings relaxation and makes my sleeping more comfortable even if I have a rock hard bed.
There are also different types of dreams such as random dreams, life and achievement dreams and love dreams. Love dreams only come from desires or of who you love, the more you like someone the more it happens. Random dreams are just random, bits of life and things u dont kno put together. Acheivment dreams just things that you want to do in life and what you hope to get. just my mind u dont need to listen to me
I just cant remember all my dreams, 0.- something that everyone goes through

Freud was a madhatter. I feel that dreams are repressed things that pass through your head and you don't even realize it. Things that are foremost in your subconcious I think come out in your dreams. Unapproved desires? I think that they will come out in dreams if you are thinking about them. It is all a jumbled up mess of thoughts and repressed desires that are hidden even from your concious.

Dreams are thoughts while you sleep, in a sense. SO to define a dream would be do define a thought. Where those originate no one really knows.
We know the different parts of the brain and what they function for to an extent.
As far thought goes we can see a synapse fire, which is where the reactions takes place that send messages to the receptors in the brain, but we cannot tell where or when it originated.
Dreams as well as thought evoke feelings within people. Ranging from mellowness to extreme anxiety, they send us on journeys. Within them we are able to relive the past and create the future.
Whatever dreams are made of it is always best to strive to make them reality.

well I believe that dreams are so much more than just repressed desires. I believe that dreams are everything that we know--whether we are conscious that we know these things or not. while asleep, the mind sorts things, chossing to retain some in long term memory, committing others to short term memory, and junking other bits of information and dreams are the manifestation of these. of course, Freud was right in the sense that we already are conscious about our knowledge of certain things. the most intriguing part of a dream is that it is our knowledge woven together, a combination of what we know consciously and unconsciously, and while the conscious holds no mystery for us, the unconscious does. :)

Dreams are a collection of your minds thoughts past, present, and future. Things you like, fear, want, don't want, ETC; and can include things that are very abstract to very realistic.
Do you believe that your dreams tell you things? I sure do it brings things to realizations and make them fit in a literal sense.
