Do you have a grocery store that shops for you and you just pick it up? In the area I live we have a Giant Foods grocery store that will do your grocery shopping for you and all you have to do is pick it up. The cost is $5.00. You just type in what you want into your computer on their site. Do you have that service where you live? I have a coupon to try it once and then after that I have to pay $5.00 if I want to do it again. I am excited to try it. However, I am wondering what it will be like when I order apples or tomatoes and they give me the worse ones there.

I am so particular that even if we had this service here I probably wouldn't use it. I like to do my own shopping. However with the economy like it is there may come a day when we all order our groceries online and they get delivered to our house. I do order some food items from QVC because I have always found that there food meets the highest of standards.

i never heard of one here yet... also, i wouldn't want them to do that to me even if there is a store like that here... i'm not willing to pay them $5 for the service not because of the money reason alone... i enjoy grocery shopping a lot and it is a way for me to relax and ease myself... so i want to do it to enjoy myself... if i let the store to do it for me, then i will miss the fun and i might not get what i want as i can't choose... they might give me the worst ones as you say and i will be wasting my money... take care and have a nice day...

Yes we have a store like that and they deliver to your house. When Joep's son was at University I shopped for him on line and they delivered it to his flat. We didn't want to send him money, we wanted to make sure he had food to eat, otherwise he would just have bought fast food with the money :) Not bad for dark Africa ! :)

That was so nice! Nothing like having someone send groceries to your home. I know you two love your kids.

Around here most of the grocery stores have it where you can either call in your order,or place your order online, and they will do the shopping for you,and then all you have to do is go to the store, pay and pick up your grocery's which saves a lot of time.

We only have one grocery store that order lets you order on line. I don't see the others following. I would be a good idea. More people would have jobs and there would be less congestion in the check out.

I agree if more grocery stores did that,it would be a great idea, shopping would not be such a hassle, and people could worry about more important things, and then the checkout lines would not always be full of angry customers lol.

I haven't shopped in this kind of grocery. I don't know whether I can get used to this kind of shopping, as I like look the thing I want to buy and compare with many some item, then choose the one I like. If there is this kind of grocery, I 'd like to try.

That's understandable. Right now, it is so hot that I would rather give the job to someone else.

As of right now where I live when I am home, we do not have this service. We have to go to the stores and pick up everything we want on our own. I'm not even sure if any of the stores in the larger towns offer this service at this time. If we wanted to do our grocery shopping online, we'd be best off buying our stuff from Amazon.com and having it delivered.

Maybe in the future you will have this opportunity. It is starting to look good to us. By the way, I like your icon. I am a big Get Fuzzy fan!

I wish there was a store like that around here. I'm pretty picky about my produce, though and I'd be mad if they gave me something less than what I would choose.

I have never heard of a store like this before, it almost sounds to good to be true. Now if they were to also deliver them, that would really be great.

A few years ago, they delivered but for some reason they stopped doing that and the shopping part. Just recently they started the shopping part again.

my online shopping is from Albertsons and while they do have a service where you pick it up for five Ihave to use their deliveryservice as I have no car or vehicle so 'I pay ten dollars andd they put it in my kitchen for me. this is so nice for me as I am handicapped and cannot carry groceries easily so well worth the ten dollars they 'charge me.

I am hoping they will go back to delivering here. I would love it!

No, I don't think that we have anything like that around here. To me it would be worth the five dollars, though it would be according to what I was getting as well. There would be some things I would want to go and pick out for myself...like apples or tomatoes.

My local grocery store has been in business for many many years and was once a very small Mom & Pop type store. They had the shop and deliver service especially for the elderly when they first opened. They are part of a large chain now, but they still have that service. I've never tried it simply because my shopping list says eggs, butter, chili, pasta, etc. and when I go shopping I look for the best buy as far as brand name goes. I also don't like to trust anyone else to pick my produce or meat. For a while last winter I was tempted to try their delivery service because I had to be on a walker for a while and I felt like it was an extra burden on my daughter-in-law to take me grocery shopping. I never did do it because of the reason I mentioned. Just never could make a coherent shopping list. :)

My local store does offer that service, but I never tried it out simply because I enjoy doing grocery. I love checking the isles for new products. My favorite section is the bath and beauty products section. Anyway, I won't appreciate a grocery services such as the one you mentioned above because I'd rather do the shopping myself. Not only does it excite me, it's also a way to de-stress except when I have to pay...

I wish I had an experience like that. Closest to it was me actually "going" to the store & picking out my items, & then, they deliver it for $1. That was in Brooklyn, NY. I think the name of the store was C-Town.

Yes, Sainsburys does it. It costs the amount for the shopping and then £5 extra for delivery, but sometimes there is an offer on, so you can get it cheap or for free.

I like the idea of it, but I would miss picking out my own fruits and veggies.
