My animals are very loved, cherished members of my family. I care for them when they are sick or old. I have an 16 year old dog now that has no teeth, so I have to hand feed her small little bits of food, she is losing her vision, so she must be escorted outside to do her business and it is my pleasure to perform these tasks for such a loyal loving friend.
All my animals are buried in my back yard.

We have had quite a few dogs that have passed away. My first ever dog was a little 57 (mixed breed) who in her 16 years with us was truly an amazing dog. We were noticing things differently with her over a course of a few weeks. So when we took her into the vet to see what was up we found out that she had conjestive heart failure. We did not want to keep her like that and make her go through all that pain and suffering. The family decided to put her down. We thought she lived a long life and was an awesome dog we didn't want to put her through anymore. It would of been cruel for us to do so. We did bury her out at my grandparents farm right next to my moms dog that she had before.
Another instance we had was with Paris a truly awesome pure bred Rotti. She was 9 months old when she passed away. She was hit by a dirt bag by some flea bag and with the tires going over her stomach it ripped all the insides out. Took her to the vet and said that she could do surgury on her but it doesn't look hopeful. I layed with Paris for about 5 minutes before deciding to put her down. It was like if she gave me a sign and said to put me down I don't want to suffer no more. With Paris we also buried her out next to our other dogs as well.

I had that kind of experience too. I cried for 2 days when my family decided to put the dog down because of some sickness.
It was heart sore memory for me as I feel like I have lost a close family member and a great friend.

I have 3 dogs and the one is getting very old and has cushings disease. I don't even want to think about when we have to put him sleep and I'm kind of hoping that when he goes, he will do it in his sleep on his favorite couch.
But if my dog was ever in any pain, and depending on how he was doing and how the pain effected him, I would probably put him to sleep. The joy I receive from him isn't worth him suffering and I know I could never stand to see him suffer.
