June 12 - - is an important day here in my country. It is the day when we got our Independence from the colony who took charge of our country for decades. It is when we were given the rights to manage and rule our own land.
It reminds me that, yes, it isn't about the day but it's the celebration that counts and what matters is, what did we all do through this years.
Nice to commemorate but let's reflect back of the essence why we got that freedom!
Nice day to all and may the blessing of the Almighty dwell in all of us!!!

Hi jeanniemay! Happy Independence Day to us! It is really sad when our fellow countrymen are all focused on the festivity or just be excited on having another day off. I do think that we all should reflect on those people, our forefathers who had suffered and think of what they have to endure and give up just to have that freedom for their children, and their grandchildren. We should not only commemorate the day itself but the people who have given up their lives to fight for Freedom. Let us honor and respect them by being a good citizen of our country and help each other for the progress of our nation. Let us unite and do something good for our country.
Take care and have a wonderful day!

our flags fly freely to the pole but we filipinos don't have real independence from foreign nation specially US, our government always depend to the US, no moves our government made without the knowledge of the US government. our Independence now is only for word but not in reality. i don't think any good time to celebrate the independence day.
