Does it mean whatever we have, where god has originally put us,that is where the real treasure is? That whatever you have, you can turn into a treasure. Or is it about testing how much you want it before he gives it to you? It can mean so much. What are your individual takes on it?

Dear friend, Acc to me the author wants to convey that we should always see things as omens of GOD and should be positive with every aspect or say things that we have, we see and should always be hopeful on life.. never give up! thats what this books moralizes us!! thanks :)

The story is simple that one can get many interpretations of the same story. My own interpretation was to accomplish a goal, one must have determination and diligence.

I think that the story of the alchemist only means that we should set our hearts into a goal, a purpose. And we should face all the trials that may come our way and that whatever happens we must give our full attention to our dreams in order to fulfill it.
