This website might help you:

As the amount of calories you loose doing an exercise depends on your weight, a thinner person will loose less calories for the same exercise as a fat person will.

I think that the question of how many calories you burn also involves not only the distance and time factor but also your height and weight... a smaller person will burn fewer calories going the same distance and speed as a larger person.
Sparkpeople dot com is a free online calorie counting website that can also help you figure out how many calories you burn when you use their fitness tracking section. :)

really? a smaller person will burn fewer calories than a bigger person? why is that so? now im more worried knowing that fact.. im not so blessed with height, maybe that's one of th reason why i only lose weight slowly and not so effectively..

That was one of those things that came as a surprise to me, too. My wife and I were comparing notes on the calories that we were burning on the treadmill... for the same amount of time... and while the treadmill doesn't really make a difference between people or their size, the calcution that Sparkpeople gave took into account not only how fast we went for how long (or how far at what speed), it also considered how much body weight each of us was carrying along for the trip! Which makes sense - if you're carrying extra weight, you're going to burn more calories! (I think that could be why people can even buy weighted vests or hand and leg weights to use...)
Something else that came as a surprise to me was that, as I started losing weight, my body needed fewer calories! Not everyone needs the same amount of calories to maintain a healthy body weight! ... But, if you're burning more calories, you also get to eat more calories. ;)

I walk on my tread mill for 30 minutes and I cover a distance of 2 kms and the calories burnt are 100.

time doesn't factor into it....depends on how hilly the terain is(walking uphill is obviously harder than down) and the distance gone....assuming the course is the same you burn the same amount of calories having run a mile as you do walking the same mile.....one is better for your cardiovascular health mind you....not sure what 2 Km would equal out to but 5 is a lil over 400 calories..
