Roughly 6mths ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer....it blew me away....life as I had come to know it, just turned upside down. The plans I had for the future were put on the back burner, as I tried to come to terms with this illness.....Been the optomist that I normally am, I tried to stay positive, & try the different treatments offered to me including a masectomy, chemo...where i became ill & ended up in hospital, lost me hair,....after that I discovered that I had more tumours, which were removed only to return back to the same area.....so now I am having radiation.....I know the doctors have only my best interests at heart but I must say that I'm finding it very hard to stay positive.....I have 5 kids, 3 of whom have moved out into their own homes & 3 moko's(grandkidz)....so it is only me & my two teenage sons at home....I am grateful that my kidz are older & I am grateful for the life I have, but just hope that all my kidz will be ok......I've heard from people who have come through this illness & lived for years, & I'm trying to stay positive & even not think about it....as life goes..its just hard some days.......
& now radiation treatment

I would like to share my sympathies with you as I am a son who has a mother who has endured the same fate as yours. My mother has it about 5 years ago and still is fighting for it to this day. I know how painful and gruesome the procedures are I hope you hold on tight with your positivity for your two sons. I am sure they are really hoping for the best too. Just like me I am no matter how gloom it may be I am holding for her survival.

Coping is actually the hardest thing to do especially if you are dealing with it on a daily basis. i really have not thought about how I did it. Its just an ongoing and for as long as my mother would not give up then I just hope and pray that God will giver her more time. Although at the back of my mind I expect that anytime she will go and just accept that fact. But right now I am hoping that He will giver her at least a longer time or still hoping for a total cure from it.

I would like to thank you for sharing your experience with this illness,....that could not have been easy...geez 5yrs seems like a very long time. How do you cope with this for that length of time? As i said before I've only been going through this for 6mths since I was diagnosed...

I am sorry that you are having to go through this rough time in your life. Cancer is a hard battle but it can be won. Keep your chin up and the fighter in you going. Don't give up. There are so many people before you who have fought this battle and won. I know that it can be hard to stay positive especially when the treatments make you feel even worse. Hang in there and keep your faith that things will get better. Sometimes it is darkest before the dawn. You might be able to find a support group in your area. You would be amazed at how much help it is just having someone who has gone through it by your side or having someone who can battle it right there with you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, may God bless you with his healing touch.

Venting can be so healing and I am glad that it has made you feel better. Anytime you need to vent this is a great place to do it and get some love and support back.

I think that with this disease, half the battle is just to stay positive.
Even the word "Cancer" is intimidating and some people hear it and just.. figure they are done when that is not at all true. My paternal grandmother has had lymphoma and lung cancer that she has been fighting on and off for 21 years. she is still alive, lives alone, and can function just as well as she did 25 years ago.
You will get through this.

I would love to direct you to a book that might help you. Chicken soup for the survivors soul. Read the stories that are there and hopefully it will bring a smile to you and help you to remain positive. I know that what you're going through is not easy and can be discouraging but please do not let that get you down. Look towards your family and friends and try and think of other things. I will keep you and yours in my thoughts and hope that you can stay positive and remember this you're stronger than you think.

I am sorry to hear of the pain that you are going through. It must be so horrendous. You have done well to keep your positive thoughts going, keep it up. It must be so hard when all your energy is drained but it can be done.
Most people say think of your sons etc. but when you are in pain and going through such terrible personal ordeals as you have, it is understandable that you feel the negative vibes coming through.
I wonder if you have anyone or a group of people who are near you and can share your experiences with. Other people who have gone through what you are going through now and can give you the support and show you that you can survive this battle and still laugh at the end of the day.
My thoughts are with you and I send you some positive vibes. We at myLot are here for you, keep going honey. BIG HUG.
