How do you feel when you hear people laughing out loud in public places? Well, to me it seems like disrespect for others?
It is not a good pictures to see yourself laughing out loud in public places.
what do you think about this? there are many people who are doing this. I don;t know if they are aware of what they are doing or they just do it purposely or they really like to do it when people are around? I don't understand why.
What is your idea about this?

Self-control is really important. For me, those people who laugh out loud in public do not have this. Yes, it's ok to laugh your heart out but we should be considerate about our environment or the people around. We could me disturbing or annoying other people while we are enjoying ourselves. It's ok to enjoy and have fun as long as we don't disturb or offend others. Some may do it purposely, those are even worse than those without self-control. All they want is to grab the people's attention.

Correct!! you are right!!! we must be considerate to other people's privacy not to disturb or annoy them with our loud laugh. We will just reserve it when we get home. In our own private abode, we can laugh as loud as we can...
Thanks for the reply.

I don't think that's disrespectful unless it's somewhere where you're supposed to be quiet like the library. But if it's somewhere else I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Sometimes when I hear different people laughing I start smiling because someone is having fun and laughing is good for the soul and to let go of all your stress.

Yeah I did know that and it's funny when you hear other people laughing. Especially when people have these high pitch laughs or these really weird ones. I don't really mind it at all.

i think the people who do that mostly in public are the teenagers and young people... i seldom see old people laughing out loud in public places... and i really dislike it as it is really very disturbing for me... especially when i want peace with my hubby... i think those people just want to attract attentions and show off... that's what i mostly see and that's what i think... take care and have a nice day...

There is nothing wrong with laughter. Anywhere. It a human emotion and it is a happy emotion. there is nothing wrong with people being happy, ever. Maybe you need to lighten up, no offence. Laughter is beautiful and should not be shunned upon.

I find those people really rude. We have to be respectful of each other and laughing out loud will certainly distract other people. Some ill-mannered people really do laugh out loud out unmindful of the noise they make. They just show how lowly they are...that they are not raised well so they have poor breeding, others purposely to this to draw attention and they kinda feel proud if others notice and look at them. Too bad! if they only know how they degrade their ownself by doing so.

Laughter is contagious and some people laugh so easily.
Laughing in a church,or business meeting or school room
might well be frowned on. but in other public places like
cafes, and parks, and circuses and such laugh your heart
out as laughter is good for you and for your soul too.
Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.

It depends on the situation/surroundings and how many people you are with. If you have a fun conversation, a loud laugh is not out of place, especially in a bigger group. If you are alone, well then you definitely look funny. Of course there is also places like the museum, an auditorium, a concert, stuff like that where a loud laugh would of course be out of place.
I also think that those who laugh exceptionally loud are not aware of it. Some people by nature have a loud laugh;)

Laughing is natural. If you are happy and are having a good time or something funny happens the natural thing to do is to laugh. There are inaparoriate places such a quiet restaruaunt or church or something but in general public there is nothing wrong with it. I would rather see people laughing then to be out in public and see a bunch of sad, depressed people. I think that laughter is contagious and the mood of other people around you spreads to others. What I do not like is when you hear an overly exaggerated fake laugh. Those I can do without!!

i think it depends on what public place your in. If your in a church, library, or museum its not good to be laughing out loud. If your in a park, playground, in the mall, or even at a comedy movie its fine to laugh out loud, because these places are places for public enjoyment.

You have a point on this but what I mean is general public places where there are many people. Well, if you are in a comedy show or party, that can not be considered as solely public because most often they are in a private room or something. Public what I mean is open to everybody.....
So then, for me, it is not good to laugh out loud in public.
Thanks for your reply.

I honestly havent thought about that lol. I never really paid much attention to it. i can see if its a semi already noisey place or if there is already noise then that doesnt bother me but if someone is on the phone and starts laughing out loud and there isnt much other noise that really aggrivates me.

The way I see, if it is a public place like a park or a swimming pool, it's ok people laughing aloud. But, places like movie theatres, shopping malls, and so on, it would be disturbing to the public around.

I don't think it's disrespectful in the appropriate places. I like the sound of laughter. It is contagious. Laughter makes me smile so hearing it is a very positive thing to me. If someone says something funny I will be the first to laugh out loud. I mean no disrespect to anyone. Being happy should not be disrespectful. We need more laughter in the world.

Laughter is the best medicine. So long as they are not disturbing a congregation or group or anything, it should be encouraged. not enough people take the time in a day to just reflect and take in what's going on. if you have enough time and gusto to give out a hearty laugh, do it.

Yes . I usually can see some complain about the chinese tourists' bad habits. And speaking or laughing loudly in public places is just one of these reasons.I haven't go to abroad personally and do not know the performance of my brethrens. But from my experience in China, chinese indeed like speak loudly in public places. This kind of bad habit brings bother to other people around you as well as reflect one person's low quality. Now the goverment has warned that people have to pay more attention to their words and deeds.I hope the situation can be improved.

Hehehe.. actually, laughing out loud in the public is not good but thier are certain exemptions to this. Like, someone laugh because there are jokes shared by a friend while roaming around the public places. If the causes why someone laugh in the public is reasonable. So be it.
