no, tattoos are a sign of individuality. you have a "choice" weather or not to get a tattoo. slavery, you had no choice.

It used to be, in the past, that tattoos meant something like that you've mentioned or an affiliation with an outlaw group. Now, however, they are more just individual artistic expressions on a person's body. In some parts of the world, they still have a negative view, but where I live, they're mostly just an art form. I wouldn't have one because it's partly against my religion and I don't want anything permanent because I get tired of things pretty easily.

Tattoos are simply an artistic expression today. It has nothing to do with slavery, as it did long ago. I will not have a tattoo because I've seen too many people regret it later. I saw a TV show about circus performers and they interviewed a "tattooed lady" who was tattooed from head to foot. She was up in years, and her tattoos were, well, kinda saggy. Nope, no tattoos for me!
