Does a second job really help financial problems?

I currently work 2 1/2 jobs and have no more extra cash than when I worked one job. I am not sure that it makes a difference in the budget. With the increases in gas prices, all of my extra income is being consumed in getting from one to the other. Now, with fast food prices rising too, even the snack that I grab between jobs, makes an extra dent in my income.
I'm thinking that just declaring bankruptcy and going back to one income to support a lesser standard of living is the best option. The rat race is killing me.

I don't see how two half jobs could be more successful than one full job as two halves make a whole, so how are you making more money. If anything you are probably loosing more money through travel costs, because rather than travelling to and from one job a day, you are travelling to and from two jobs a day. Maybe you could look for one job with a decent wage and you will find that you save money.

Oh right, I read it has two jobs that are part time rather than 2 full time jobs and one part time job. How do you fit them all into you week?

It's rough and takes a toll, but you just keep plugging and hope you are still standing at the end of the week.

the one who knows the benefit for having more than one job is your own self cause only you who determine how much you need to expense for fulfill your daily basic needs. by recent economic situation, i think you should be more consider any aspect that related with any cost that you should expense for having more than one job, dear friend

Hmmm I think it can help your finance problems but you'll need to try not spend as much i.e walk to some places instead of driving everywhere, go to cheaper shops for food.
With the increase of petrol prices everyones finding it hard to get about. Soon paying for a car is going to be the same as a morgage.
What is it with the increase of tax all of a sudden?

If your jobs just making it worser- you should go back to only one.
A lesser standard in living is better than lesser standard in health. Take care of yourself. Money isnĀ“t it at all.

a second job is can you useless if what you're spending is more than your earnings, i use to have a side job few years ago, back then i thought it was the best option to increase my income, i found out late that what i'm earning from it is actually lesser than what i'm spending on food and snacks since i really get drain so i take juices often.
i quit it after few months and stick to my real job and some side jobs once in a while and of course my job in the net.

If working two jobs is not working out then you would be best just sticking with the one that brings in the most money. Then instead of grabbing fast food snacks make yourself something and that will save you money.
I used to buy myself sandwiches and bacon butties everyday, I cut them back to just once or twice a week as a treat and I have saved quite a bit of money by doing this.

Why don't you try commuting to your second job to save on gas? As for your food expenses, just bring your own lunch and snack from home. Not only will it come out cheaper, you're also assured that it's clean since you prepared it yourself. The reason why the second job isn't helping you out is because your standard of living is also changing. SO if you adopt a simpler lifestyle, I'm sure you'll be able to save enough from the second job. :)

Hello! It depends on the type of job you are doing, how much efforts you are putting and how much you are gaining.
And Relax, Life is short, try to enjoy during leisure atleast, if not every moment. Life is a cycle, bad times then good times and then vice versa, so is money .Money comes and goes, but time will not come once its gone.
Have fun! Keep
Happy Mylotting!

well, i don't why that happens to you... if you have 2 1/2 jobs, you have to earn more rather than just having 1 job... unless if you change the way you spend your money as well when you have more jobs... what i mean is, people tend to spend more when they earn more... if that happens, then there is nothing weird if you don't have more cash left even though you work 2 1/2 jobs... may be you have to budget your money more strictly and you will see that you will be able to save some extra cash... good luck and have a nice day...

If any of your jobs are costing you more than you're earning, quit. I recently read an article that that is happening to a lot of minimum wage earners who don't live close to their jobs. It's more cost effective to collect unemployment than to spend the money on gas.

That goes to show that our time now is so very hard compared before. I think having 3 jobs doesn't make any difference than in having 1 steady job. The more you will spend time and money if you are transferring from one place to another to report to your next job. Maybe the best thing to do to earn extra income is doing it online where you are not going to spend gas. Just sit down in your computer and there you go.
I would say, online earning for extra cash is better than driving to another place to work.
