My electricity went out right at 1 pm. It was thundering and lighting pretty heard. I unplugged my computer and my tv and I was hoping the lights would come on. I read a book from 1 pm untill 5 pm. Luckily I could see in here throw my window blinds.I had to keep the front and back doors open for air. Since I have a hard time without it since I have m.s. and spacisity. I did fine with it though. I was so happy when the lights kicked back on. I am also glad that my home wasn't damaged. This storm made trees fall on some houses down the road from me. All i can say is god was looking out for this house.

Wow Shaun,
I would be so scared of that storm. I have to give you credit for staying calm and just reading a book. If that were me I would be all over the place freaking out lol. Sounds like God was on your side.
Have a great day

Glad you are safe and the electricity came back on for you. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. You did have his protection around your house and praise God for that, Amen!

It's good to know that your home wasn't damaged and that your lights came back on after some time. I just hope the rest of the people that had trees fall on their houses are ok also. Lightning storms can be very scary with the heavy wind, rain, lightning and thunder.
I am so petrified of lightning storms for I always fear that something bad is going to happen. I always pray asking god to please keep us all safe and make the storm go away. It's good you had a book to read while passing the time.

Hi Shaun, glad to hear you were safe in the mids of storm. Yesterday afternoon noticed the wind blowing strong outside from my window and the poor cherry tree is bending half-way down as if it was gonna break. It scared me. I don't want our cherry tree to get broken. The almond tree at the back garden was already broken from the top by a strong wind last year.
Anyway, nice to know you're safe.

The weather seems to be in a turmoil just about everywhere, Shaun, and I'm glad that your home sustained no damage. I really dread storms because they can wield such awesome power.

Hello Shaun72.
It sounds like you had quite a day with the lightning and thunderstorms. No doubt, luck was with you that trees did not fall and cause damage to your property (or you). Plus, you got to read for 4 hours straight, wow, that would be a real treat for me!
When electricity goes out, it is usually a hassle, but it sounds like you handled it like a trooper! Take care.

Shaun~ Things have been awful lately with the weather. Where do you live? I live in Vermont and we have had one Lightening storm after another here. There have also been sightings of tornadoes which is very rare for this area.
So far we have been lucky and nothing bad has happened. My outside plants are getting over watered, but no flooding yet.
I am glad to hear that you made it through that. I hate when the electricity gets knocked out. I don't know what is worse--in the bitter cold or the blasting heat.

Glad to hear you and the house survived the storm and that the heat didn't upset you too much.
I look after a man with MS and he hates storms. It affects his breathing when he gets too hot and then he has more spasms.
He was recently prescribed Cannabis in a Spray form and it's decreased the number and severity of his spasms, a great deal, but whether it will help during storms we dont know yet.
I hope none of your neighbours were hurt and that the damage has been minor.
Look after yourself!

yeah I did pretty were considering. I get spasms myself or spacisity from the heat. I just changed from one pill that didn't help me to taking zanaflex. So far it helps me thank God. Before I would get shakey very easy.I feel really bad for the man you look after. I hope that the cannabis really helps him a bunch with his spasms.

Hello, Shaun. I have MS, also. Most of my problems are in the upper body. Sorry that the storm kept you from getting the rest you need, but am glad your house suffered no damage. Thunder and lightning rarely ever bother me.I'm only awakened if the lightning strikes close by or there is a flood warning sounded.

I'm so glad that you're okay. I live in Central Indiana where we have had our fair share of severe storms, floofing, tornadoes and whatnot. Luckily we we were spared-I have been gathering up what I can (some clothes and toys that my children have outgrow0 to donate to the surivors.
My thoughts, prayers, and strength are with you.

You are lucky in that aspect,Specialy when the climate is dry and wind blows lot of damages take place to the public and private properties. The wind blows in any dirction and the electricity board people unplug the fuse to avoid any untoward incident.

I was almost reasy to go to my grandmothers house since i can't drive any more due to seeing double. i am a little scared to drive. When she was her the lights came back one.

Hi Shaun - Have you thought of listing yourself as a priority customer for electric repairs due to your health? I have asthma, and can't be without AC in the summer. A year or so ago my AC was out for hours. A friend suggested I call the electric company and notify them that I have a health issue and need to be a priority for repairs. They listed me, and now if electric goes out, its very quickly repaired for me. I'm glad you didn't have any serious damage. I know my home state is flooding right now, but where I live currently we really NEED rain. Send me some of yours will you? :)
