stuck in a car wash?

Has anyone ever gotten stuck in a car wash? I was waiting for my turn yesterday after punching in my code number. I noticed after a few minutes that the car in the car wash wasn't being washed. The door in front of it was closed, so the driver couldn't go out, and the light on the little stop sign was on. All the other lights were flashing. The driver seemed to be talking on a phone, so I thought maybe someone would be coming to help. After a few more minutes I decided to go in the gas station and tell the cashier that someone seemed to be stuck in the car wash. He came out and opened the door to let that driver out, motioned for me to drive forward, waited until my car had been washed and opened the door for me. I thanked him and wondered how long the other person had been sitting in there. If the door needs to be opened manually for each car, how many others have sat inside until a driver behind them asked for assistance?

I won't use the carwash because I just hate them. I went through a few times when my husband was driving and it seemed so claustrophobic. I was just waiting for the brushes to come crashing through the windscreen. ThenI used to just get out at the start and wait for him at the end of it! Now i'm the only driver in the family and i wash my car myself at home.

That is a weird situation, not funny for those stuck in it and certainly I would not laugh at the discomfiture of others; there are other ways of getting my laughs. I wonder if that was how the carwash operated, do they get repeat customers? I've no sense of humor, it seems. I think of these things instead LMAO. Cheers!!

That is kinda funny, even though I probably wouldn't think so at the time of being stuck in there..lol I don't have a cell phone so if I couldn't get the door open myself from the inside, I would be sitting there in the car wash until someone else came along and let me out..lol
