i just realize that nowadays there is one more option to delivery baby. its called water birth method. as llike the name, the mother will delivery baby in the water and it said that it reduces 80% pains of normal baby delivery. of course the water will be sterilized firstly before the mother uses it. another thing in water birth method, around of room will have lavender aroma theraphy and even added with relax music. my country just use this birth method from 2006. i just wonder how common this birth method in your country and what kind birth method that you ever had? normal delivery, surgery, or?

There is no problem with water births. In countries like holland most of the new births r water births.Even doctors recommend the water birth. It takes away 90 percent of your pain. I would recommend anyone to go with this but you should have a nurse who is experienced in child birth with u so she can be useful in emergencies.

Hi Plumwish, it does sound a very relaxing way to give birth if there is one eh! LOL. In the UK most maternity units in the hospitals have birthing pools so I believe it is quite common, howver for me I have to have surgery each time due to a pelvis injury years ago so I just go to sleep wake up and there is the baby. I have never heard of this either. I had a normal birth delivery with an epidural to ease the pain at the very end of 15 hours of labor. I would have given anything for something less painful. I never want to go through that ever again. The pain was horrible for me. They thought they were going to have to take the baby C-Section but didn't have to at the very end.

I had two baby's, all without epidural. With the first one I couldn't stay in the tub, 'cause he wasn't low enough so the midwife needed to push with me to help him, but I did go in the tub till it was time to deliver. It helped to ease the pain. The second one I delivered in the tub. No epidural either (can't do that when you're in the tub). Because he stopped working I needed medication to help him get out, so I was glad I could go in the tub cause it helped to ease the pain.

in the uk it is quite common now and i actually wanted to have a water birth with my second child i had planned it right up til the birth and was even in the water birth room with the pool filled and everything, then my son's heartbeat slowed down and i was forced to be monitored constantly so i was unable to have a water birth, it was disapointing as the pool was right there and i was layed on the bed lol but i had to go with the safest option.

I had a C-Section delivery 6 weeks before the due date as the umbilical cord was wrapped around my baby's neck. I'm happy to say all went well.

I have heard of the water method, though I did not do this when I had my kids. Both of mine were normal delivery. I did have an episiotomy (a small cut down "there") with my first son because I was terrified at giving birth. With my second son other than the doctor having to break my water it was a normal delivery. Maybe if I have a 3rd baby I'll try the water method, who knows?

I first heard of that method used in my country in the 70's but I do not know anyone personally who did it that way. Although there has been a bit of a trend toward normal delivery here, I am afraid that surgery is still far too common. It is easier for the doctors and more lucrative.

hi, that's a good news for ladies who r going to deliver. which country do u belong to? i am an indian and as far as my knowledge is concerned, i dont think its been used here as yet. i havent seen any deliveries but yes my gurl has seen since she is a doctor and she always tell me about how the ladies suffer fron that pain n then deliver the small wonders of this world. she has also seen surgeries which are known as LSCS type of delivery or ceasarian section which is named after a person ceasar who was the first person to deliver by this method, so the name. the type of delivery u have mentioned really sounds good and it will be a sigh of relief for those who dont want to undergo pain and still wanna have a baby. hope it is soon implemented in india so that here also our women community can avail of this wondeful method.

i heard about this method too. it's not that common here i think as it's expensive but i think there were reports that some did it. for me, i just did the normal delivery. i didn't put it any medication or epidural. it was just labor all the way. hehe

;plumwish we also have the water birth method here in the US but I had plain old normal delivery with an epidurmal for pain but that was many years ago. Both of my deliverys were just normal deliveries. I think a lot of the Hollywood movie stars have used the water birth delivery medthod. lol.

I have heard of water birth method quite a long time ago. It is very normal in many countries. In fact, about ten years ago, my cousin had gave birth to her daughter by this method. She was quite happy.

I have heard of it and new someone who utilized it. She said didn't believe it did anything to reduce the pain. She also said that she found it to be somewhat "gross" after the fact considering all the stuff that floats in the water after the birth...
