I have to admit that this was a first for me. I've only seen pictures of beaches in reality, but I would love to see one up close and personal. I think they are so beautiful. Well, I had never heard of a pink beach-until now! I found this gorgeous photo of the beach at Harbor Island, Eleuthera, in the Caribbean.
Why settle for white sand when you can have a little color? Several places in the Caribbean have pink beaches, but the most iconic is on Harbour Island. The strawberry ice cream color comes from shells of microscopic marine organisms. The aptly-named Pink Sand Beach stretches most of the island's three-mile eastern shore, where sunrises are spectacular and an offshore coral reef tempers the surf.

I didn't know beach can be pink until I read your post. It's really special. However I don't quite like pink. I am more fond of the sea actually. That blue color is just wonderful for me.

I am envious, max, since my opportunities to travel have been limited. I hope you will enjoy Harbor Island!

I had never heard of a beach being pink either, but that is the prettiest beach I have ever seen. I love pink too so I would be perfectly happy sitting on that for a few days!

Those colors are so soothing, gemine, that I think anyone would feel like they were in Paradise were they to go there.

I never knew there was a pink beach anywhere. It's a beautiful sight and it would be wonderful to see it.
I have seen black beaches where there were volvcanoes. Most British beaches are yellow if they are sandy, except in the north of Scotland where I have seen almost white beaches.

I loves beaches with sand but I must say that is one is beautiful.
I've never seen or heard of a beach that has pink sand it it so
cool. I could see my self sitting on that beach just watching the sunset.
All I ever get to see is the normal white sand we have here.

I have never seen a pink beach. I live in Indiana and we do not have beaches here since we do not live close to the ocean. I have been to the beach in florida a few times though. they have a white sand there. I would love to see some pink sand first hand also some day. I think baby blue would be pretty also. I would love to go to the Caribbean some day.

Ahh, stephcjh! Wouldn't we all? I think that living in the Caribbean would be like having your own little slice of heaven-if you factor out the storms.

What a beautiful picture! I know that I have been to a pink beach before, I think it was here in Florida. I am originally from California and live in Florida now so I have seen beaches on both coasts. But I am pretty sure I saw one here on one of the Keys going down to Key West. Thanks for the beautiful picture!

This looks like a wonderful beach Worldwise1! I just wish I could be there. I just hate dealing with beaches that have an over population of jellyfish in the sand it ruins everything.

Well, celia4evr, I don't know if this one has jellyfish, but I probably would find a way to work around that!

Well, worldwise1, I have not seen a pink beach. I thought you were just kidding. I have been to several islands in the Caribbean but have not had the distinct pleasure of viewing a pink beach on Eleuthera. I have heard of the black beaches but I don't recall where they are located. The Caribbean has some of the most pristine beaches ever. Thanks for sharing.
