When I was making our rice I sauted a half an onion in butter with garlic sea salt, salt and pepper, and a little smokey sweet red pepper seasoning then I added one cup of rice and let it cook with the seosonings for 10 minutes stirring constantly then added 2 cups of water and brought it to a boil covered and let it boil on medium for 5 minutes then turned off the burner and let it sit till done. It is sooooooo good!!

We are having Teriyaki Beef Shish Kabobs with onions, green pepper, pineapple, zucchini, yellow squash, and cherry tomatoes. I am cooking it on the grill and then serving it with beef flavored rice.

Don't forget to soak your kabob sticks if using wooden ones. It is recomended to put meat on a seperate kabob to ensure that they are cooked through since they cook at a slower rate than fruit or veggies. But fruit and veggies can be cooked together.

To be honest--I have never made them. So, it will be interesting. My daughter has wanted them since last summer. I got as far as buying the shish kabob sticks and they have been stuck under the counter all this time.
Hopefully, they turn out okay. I concerned about cooking time. I am not sure if I should cook each thing on it's own kabob.

We are having bacon potato casserole with corn and bread and butter. It is cooking in the oven right now all I will have to do is heat up the corn when the casserole is about ready. Having the oven on is making the house warm though.

I am quite pleased with myself today. I made pork fried rice and egg rolls tonight, and I'm impressed at how they turned out, considering I'd never done it before. I made the egg roll wrappers from scratch too!
Now I have to go make frosting and ice cream as we're celebrating my 2 year old's birthday today.

nothing as interesting as that, we went to a movie today and had to drive a long ways. I didnt feel like cooking when I came back so we just popped in a frozen pizza when we got back. We had some cherries so we ate those for dessert.

We just ate out at a little Mexican restaurant here. I usually don't cook on the weekends, but I hate eating out because it costs so much money. I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow.

We don't eat out much cause of tight finances. We are going out to eat on the 14th of next month for my daughter's birthday.

Leftovers, I guess. Last night, I made chicken tikka for my sons. We'll make wraps with it (tortilla, yogurt, and lettuce) and probably some fresh veggies to go with it. Doesn't sound like much, but as long as my kids are happy, I'm happy.
