Somebody has been poisoning dogs, raccoons and squirrels in a toronto park,
the dog owners are beside themselves, who could be doing such and awful thing and why?

it is just awful, they don't like animals, they don't have to have any themselves, but why kill other people's animals.

Hi Sweet
The sick basta^ds!
Here in our town we have an
older woman that I heard was
putting antifreeze in catfood
on her porch to keep the strays away!
She baits them attracting them to their
deaths! I started driving past her house
and when I realized that late at night there was
cat food cans on the porch I called the police.
I don't know what happened but there are no
cans out anymore!
Sick! Heartless!

It's too bad people can't get caught at doing this stuff. It's equally too bad that people who want to be pet owners can't look after their pets a little bit better. I have a purebred Maltese as everyone knows from my avatar. Now where I live in Canada and I think in most places you are required to have a dog licence which is paid every year. I got my dog four years ago and I absolutely refuse to buy a dog licence. I have had to paper train my dog and not allow the dog outside unless I'm holding the dog in my arms because there's always dogs running through my yard and my dog only weighs 4 pounds and some of these dogs are huge. I don't think it's fair that I have to scoop poop from my yard when my dog is paper trained. It's these sort of things that cause people to rebel. My way was to tell the town that before I buy a licence they would have to remove dogs from my yard, nothing was done and therefore I have never bought a licence. It's not the dogs fault but all too often people take out their frustrations on the animal and poision it. Not Good at all. I hope who ever is doing the poisoning gets caught. There's a heafty fine for that type of thing.

these people were taking care of their dogs, in a dog park with the leashes on, when the dogs smelled the bushes as dogs do they got poisoned. NOw the dog owners are afraid to take their animals there, and this is in Canada, in Toronto.

forgot to say dog crap is not allowed here in montreal, you would have called the city here and if you knew who was doing it that person would have gotten a fine.

its me again lol, when I saw it on tv the dogs were on leashes but apparently this park allows dogs to be off leash so they can run around and play

I sure hope they can find who is doing that horrible thing. We had the best little dog that we adopted from the pound years ago and someone poisioned him and two more dogs in the neighborhood. Never could prove who did it but we all had an idea. It makes me sick when I hear of things like this.

hi winterose, this has to be one verysick mean person. we
had a slurry of this against cats about a year ago here in
California. What on earth is in the mind of someone like this
and where does he or she get all that hatred? I do hope that the authorities can track down this sick person before he or she
does any more damage.

I don't understand either, you don't like animals, don't have them as pets, but don't hurt other people's animals.

it is really sick and cruel... i don't understand why people can be so cruel to animals... animals are living beings too and they have the right to live in peace... just like humans... anyway, i hope the person who does this cruel act can be catch and punished accordingly by the authorities... take care and have a nice day...

That is just disgusting...what kind of sick, twisted and psychotic monster would do something like that?! It's...oh god..just sickening and tragic. To think that a human being can actually derive pleasure from such an evil and immoral act...can that being even be called a human?

I heard about this on AM 740 the other day. I think it s absolutely disgusting what people are doing. They say it was an "accident" that the dogs got it, but I don't believe it or a second!!! A person can't put poison in the park, only intending to target one animal. First of all it's sick even to do that, and secondly they have no control over who will eat the poison.

They are sick? What if a child was to get somthing on there hands and put it in there mouths! Children do not wash there hands when they are playing ther parents may use wet wipes when they are out but it could be to late? If anyone was to hurt or try to poison my dogs I would beat the H*LL out of them? Animals are the best thing given to humans, they are wonderfull to watch and the funny things they get up to? Dogs give there love unconditional and hope to be loved in the same way? Why are there people so evil out there that want to hurt and kill them?

I can't say who or why but I agree they are total sickos. Not to sound harsh but I think they should be poisoned, not with something that'd kill them but with something that would cause them a great deal of misery. Then maybe they'd see what it's like. Those poor animals! I love animals, possibly more than the majority of people, and I couldn't fathom harming one. Sometimes I even feel bad about slapping insects off me. They are pests but still living things and usually when I swat at them, I don't aim right on purpose so hopefully they'll fly away before I have to swat again. Animals are my life!

animals are my life too, I wouldn't poison the sickos because I am not as sick as they are but I would certainly threw them in jail if I could.

I hope they find the ones who were doing this. I cannot fathom how anyone could poison a dog. It is an off leash park after all. I mean what if one of the dogs was a seeing eye dog? Or a cute little puppy. That person who did it is not only sick, he or she is evil. If they could well poison a dog, they could well poison a child.

There are so many sick people in this world now and I can't imagine why someone would do this.. I can't even come close to imagining what could be in someone's mind that could make them want to do such a thing as this.. Why would you even be thinking of things like this.. Some people just don't need to be living and taking up space on this planet.. I don't have any sympathy for them even if they are mentally sick, and you would have to be mentally sick to do these horrible things..

one theory is that they wanted to poison the raccoons that have been tearing up the gardens.

This is disturbing. It is pretty bad when you do not feel safe walking your own dog in a public park because they might get poisoned. What is wrong with people these days? How could you live with yourself knowing you killed someone's family member. ( most of us think of our pets as one of the family.) I hope they catch this sicko and give him or her more then just a fine. It seems like people get off with fines or probation for some pretty serious things.

Thats about as bad as the sickos here in this area. For over a year now someone has been catching peoples pet cats, sawing them in half (yes, its true) and then leaving only half the poor cat on someones front lawn. The news of course feels they need to show photos, but yet "block out" the graphic parts. Maybe if they didn't keep reporting on it the creep wouldn't feel the need to keep doing it for attention?
