5 years in advnce

The way I understand the way the script will be is that when the show returns it will be 5 years in the future. I don't think they will go backwards from there but forward. I guess we have to trust the writers on this one. It's hard to imagine how it will be and what has happened in those missing years. I guess we will find out this fall when the new shows premier. It will be interesting and I can't wait for all the new shows!

I dont believe it will go backwards. According to an interview with Marc Cherry he said there will be flashbacks but it mainly be set in the present day 5 years ahead. I am mostly excited about seeing Gabby as a non attractive mother! HAHA It is just so out of her realm for the show.

the reason why they showed it 5 years later, is that the viewers would be more curious as to what happened between now and 5 years later. especially since they showed scenes where most of them have shown really different characters from what they are now. now they can build on the story of everything that happens in-between. i must admit - it was a good strategy since it really got my attention knowing that susan will be married a 3rd (?) time....what's going to happen to mike?! ...and can you believe gaby will have a child?! i think most will be curious to see what happens!

The show is casting for several parts right now. Its moving forward 5 years. I'm not really happy knowing the changes are so drastic. It feels like we are going to be lost trying to figure out what happened in between now and later.

I watched a clip just this morning about the new season. It was titled "Who's Leaving Desperate Housewives?" so it caught my attention! It said that Mike would be back, him and Susan sharing custody of their son. It also said that the guy in the finale would be there. The characters that WON'T be back, though, are the younger ones. Julie will be away at college, and the other children will supposedly be recast. It will be interesting, I think, to see Gaby not dressed to the nines all the time! Kinda makes you stop and think what a difference five years can make in people! You know, have you ever lost touch with someone who was a good friend, and when you run into them four or five years later, you really aren't the same two people you were? (Does that make sense??!! It didn't type too smoothly, lol!) I am ready for the shows to start already!
