I'll take the money and run

If you were to discover that one of your myLot friends had a scandalous secret. Then you found out they are in real life a well known international personality who was rarely out of the papers and about whom there was no scandal. Would you be tempted to sell their secret to the media in exchange for a serious amount of money? Would you actually do it?

Is this about you? No I wouldn't do that. If it was something criminal they were keeping secret I would have to go to the authorities or I wouldn't be able to live with myself. If it was anthing else then it's their business not mine and I would have no right to profit from it.

If it's me Nanna, then it's you too. We are one and for that reason we both feel exactly the same way about this.

Absolutely not, all the money in the world wouldn't make me do that to a friend whether on myLot or in real life. I know there are many that would but it isn't right. The only things I would share would be things they have said I can. A secret is a secret and should stay that way however scandalous. Ellie :D

Don't you worry Posh. I'd never tell about your affair with Bernie Ecclestone. I mean, I absolutely agree Ellie. Something told to you in confidence must remain that way.

I don't think I would do that. only because i believe what you put out there always come back to you. so i would rather not do someone dirty, because i know that it will only come back to bite me in the a$$

I think it does and if the person was a friend I couldn't betray that confidence.

Of course my first inclination would be to keep their secret, absolutely. But then, a nice amount of money could make it possible for me to travel, say to England, and Canada, and several states here in Amurca, and I must say, that's a mighty attractive thought. So, I'm torn. NO, I'm not. Yes, I am. Shite. P1key, this is such a dilemma!!!! Will you hate me if I divulge your secret, even if it means that I could come see you? But hey, even if you do hate me, I bet I could change that. Yup, bet I could. So, ok, I'm selling you out, buddy. But expect a call from the poshest hotel around, darlin, and a car to come around to pick you up.

No, I would not do that. I wouldn't even be tempted. If they were a friend, however that friendship came about, then you just wouldn't would you? You don't do that to friends. Now if it was someone I didn't like then that would be a different story...

I'd probably be tempted for about 3 seconds then my conscience would get to me. Personjally, I think having all the money in the world and not being able to sleep would suck! You still need to live with yourself, right? Cheers Ed

Pikey have you got some dirt to dish on someone? Fess up and share my friend :)))) all joking aside good question. I am not sure if I would or not. Maybe. I think it would really depend on the circumstances and if people were going to get hurt by anything I had to say. How about you Pike whats your take on this?

Would anyone pay you money for that? You would need proof, right? Selling rumors to tabloids might make you some money but I doubt if I would ever get to that point of doing all of these things just to make a dubious buck.

I believe so, because most of my mylot friends are just buddies and most don't even respond my discussions. I think it would depend on the sum of money as well as of the friend and of the secret.

I could never betray a secret (except if it was criminal) or a friend. I'm sorry that your friends don't reply to you discussions. Persevere. It will come right eventually.

No matter how much I need the money I could not see hurting a great friend and no matter if they were famous . That is just something mean to do and I would feel too bad . If they are a good friend they would prob share the money with you anyway

If the amount was enough I, just like the next man, would sell any secret in a shot. Or I would bribe the person for money to keep my mouth shut and then sell the secret anyway thus doubling my money.

yes, i acknowledge that i am interested in Start's tidbits. But releasing the scandal screct from me is not what i'm willing to do. Let it. And i suggest not sell the secret to the media. If you do that, you hurt your mylot friends. And the worst thing is they will kick you out when mylot friends find you did it! So just let it be.

No, I am sorry I wouldn't take advantage of it. I might tell someone else that might but I wouldn't laugh all the way to the bank on someone else's misfortune to have a unfortunate moment that was caught on tape or seen.

hi pikefish well now if I was really a friend to a mylot' friend I would not sell her out at all as I am her friend, to me a true friend does not rat on each other. no I would not take the money and run, as I would feel that my friend had enough on her plate being a well known international personality whowas always in the limelight. so call me stupid.

It's not right, rember the Crist and Judas; you don't want to be like him, that sold Jesus, for money and after found himself alone in hell forever. !Ask the Lord before you do something like that¡ and wait for his asnwer; don't let the one with the little horns, tell you, what to do.

Hi P1kefish! I am new to this site and have no friends yet. But if I were to find out one had a scandalous secret and that I could profit from telling I do not not think I could do it. I think that real friends are invaluable and would not sell them for any money. Have a great day! Hartley
