Who is your favorite character on 'Lost' and why?

Forgive me for being such a dork and being soooo excited about a show that's been around for quite awhile but I just started watching this from the beginning. Do you have a favorite character?
I think I most like Charlie and Kate - right now anyway. I'm not too keen on Sawyer and I feel Locke has some issues. Some of the others are hard to read yet, I haven't seen enough back story to understand enough. Hurley is an interesting character but I know NOTHING about him yet.

My favorite character is Sawyer. I thoroughly enjoy watching him when he's giving another character a hard time and the nicknames he gives each person are so funny. I want Kate to eventually end up with Sawyer. He may seem selfish and arrogant, but I love that he has a more vulnerable side. And I think him and Kate have way more chemistry than Kate and Jack. His back story is interesting too. And apparently he has a daughter? I think I missed the episode where they revealed that.

. I really like him now, and I'm glad. I was also surprised at his connection to Locke but I feel much better now that Sawyer has laid that ghost to rest. That was eating him alive.
I think he has a lot of chemistry with Kate, in an alternate universe I wouldn't mind being her lol. Yes, he has a daughter and it was funny how he swore he really didn't, but when he turned in the guy in jail and shared where the money was and got out, he asked that the cut he received went to a private fund for his daughter and that she never discover where the money came from. She was a baby at the time but if she is anything like her daddy, she'll track him down eventually!

I am so sad and cried. My favorite character is gone! I think Charlie was so great on the show and the way he was with Claire even after she lost her memory of him was just amazing. I really wish they had kept him on the show, but I understand that on a show like Lost not everyone is going to survive.

I was an avid watcher of Party of Five and I'm still having a hard time separating Jack from the family man character he played on that show. Kate is interesting, I see a lot of layers to her and I'm looking forward to finding out more about what makes her who she is.
