I do light it mostly for birthdays and in churches. But there were situations when we went to our father’s native place where we went inside a cave with few candles lighten. It was so nice inside with the candles we had also taken few vedios and photos with the candles light. May be in some hotels too the dinner is hand under candle lights it so nice to see that it gives me some sort of romantic feelings. At home we rarely light candles other than birthday functions. During new years also we do light candles in carnivals and others functions if necessary. I do hope candles do have a special role in many special functions.

I love the aroma that candles bring into a room. Sometimes I light candles around my bath tub on the days I decide I want to sit in it and just relax. It's been a little while since I've actually done it. Makes me want to do it soon. Of course, I light candles on birthday occasions, but they only stay lighted for so long until the birthday person blows them out to make a wish. Other times I just have the candles lite around the house to bring a great smell into the home.

Oh I just love candles and incense. I light them every single day. My husband loves them too and if I forget to light them, he does it for me. Of course I don't leave them going overnight or when I'm not home. My favorite thing is to take a nice long bath with candles.

About the only time I ever light a candle is when our power goes off. Candlelight is very romantic but I guess I've lost the romance, lol. The church I use to attend has a candlelight service on New Year's Eve every year. I thought that was very beautiful.

I only light candles when there is not electricity and it is very dark... but when i sometimes want to change the ambiance in the house... i light scented candles... and dim the lights... but i am sure to put the candles where my baby cannot get them... she thinks there is a birthday whenever a candle is lighted... and she feels compelled to blow the little fire...

DAnish people use a lot of candles. We have them on the table almost every night at dinnertime, and we have candle holders that hange on the walls just because they look nice. Dripless candles are handy for wall cadle holders. I read somewhere that Danes use more cadles than anyone in the world.

I rarely light candles anymore. I used to use them often to relax and have a more peaceful setting. But since having children I have been less likely to have them. I get nerve that they will get hurt or knock them over and make a mess. Also I used to have really cheap ones that let off a lot of smoke which made my son cough as he is asthmatic. On birthdays I will light candles on a cake or during a bath when the kids are away. LOL

Probably not as often as I could or should. We have 100's of candles, but we don't use them. Wanting to be prepared for a power failure, we got heaps and heaps, but so far, we haven't lost power and now have all these candles that are just sitting there gathering dust. Obviously, we light candles for birthdays, especially for our girls who love to blow them out. I could be using them to help me to remain calm, but I just never think about it. I don't use our bath much, partly due to the fact I have trouble getting out of it, so don't use them while relaxing in the tub. I guess I really should start using them more, as many of the ones we have are scented.

I don't light candles very often. When I do its usually for a bath or when the power is out and I need a light. We also use them for birthdays. My boyfriend likes to turn off all the lights and light candles around the room to watch tv. He says its a good snuggling atmosphere. I have a friend who sets her table and lights candles every night for dinner.
