I'm sad about my star...

Star is our standing here... a rate that we get from fellow mylotters. If ever we get POSITIVE RATING it will increase but if we have negative ones IT WILL DECREASE. You may have more response posted but you might have received more negative as well. I really don't know if it is really the case in your situation. Just my speculation

Your responses are rated by all the other members of myLot, but it is wrong to give a negative [-] rating just because you don't agree with what is said in the response. Most people will give a positive [+] rating to all responses on their own discussions and to good posts in other people's discussions. It's better to leave posts unrated if you don't like them, but some people will give a negative rating to posts they don't like, or don't agree with. It doesn't mean you have posted any bad responses, it means that some people have give your responses a negative rating. You shouldn't worry too much as your star will rise again. It's best not to worry too much about your star, just keep adding good responses. Everyone loses points sometimes but they do usually go back up again.

same problem here, i want to know i respond so many of the posts now a days but my star rating is still rigid. what to do??

Don't feel sad, it really isn't that important! From what I've seen here you don't appear to be the type to be rude or disrespectful to anyone so my guess would be that your star dropped because someone disagreed with something you posted and gave you negatives for that reason, although that's not what it's supposed to be used for. You're fairly new with a lower point total so it doesn't take much for your star to go up and down. Hang in there and don't worry too much about your star. Everyone would probably like to have a blue 10 but when it comes down to it it's really not all that important. Annie

My star did dropped by 2 points too.. And all along my star rating was increasing till i reached the blue star, then it dropped to red.. And there are many reasons to y your star rating drops.. One of the most important factor, is your discussion being deleted, due to violating the TOS of mylot.. So whenever u start or respond, just be careful and think carefully ^_^

Hey iskayz, don't feel sad about your star. It's okay, you could regain it. Maybe some members dislike some of your responses and you got '-' rate from them. We have no control on how other members would take or view our opinions and rate them. I have experienced my rating going down and up as well. But I don't put too much attention on it. I just keep on posting, having fun of course. And join discussions where I could express my views and opinions freely, not bothered if others would take may opinion against me or not. I say what I have to say and I'm just happy about that. I hope this would cheer you up and you could recover back your rating. Cheers and have a great day!

i think it happens to everybody and not only to you... so i will suggest that you don't get too upset about that... it is only a star and i think it won't affect your earnings at all... i myself try to ignore it and just try to have fun here... take care and have a nice day...

I too experienced the same thing a couple of days back. Dont be sad. The rating keeps fluctuating quite often. You will soon be back to 10.

Yes, that has happened to me too.. I felt very bad after this.. But I learned to move on and not let it bother me.. At least I still deserve to get paid by myLot. No matter what bad rating I may get, I am still useful to get paid by Mylot anyway.. That is all that matters to me, now..

Well...about the star? I don't really know the importance of it...I'm pretty new here. Don't be sad...I think it's only temporary. So cheer up!

I am pretty new to mylot and I have noticed the stars but never really knew what they were for. I hope I get a start soon. Does anyone know when you get a star or how you found out you got one?

Well I did ask about it when I got my own star and everybody said that it's how the members rate you. So maybe someone didnt like something you said and rated you lower. I don't really know for sure because I'm still too new to this. But hey. Don't worry! ratings are probably fluctuating all the time and it takes very little to upset that balance. And hey, I promise to rate your discussion in plus so that you can have a better chance of getting back to the higher star :)

I think, but I'm not sure because I'm still a newbie, that the star rating is a reflection of how many of your responses get rated as positive out of how many responses you've made. So really it is your fellow mylotters that are rating the star for you. I always thought that it was kind of a funny system. Just because you have a low rating doesn't mean that you're a bad poster. In fact, it could mean that you write a heck of a lot of responses and most people are just too lazy to rate them.

If I tell you .......!just be patient with your star, if you fell this reputation is very important think just be patient and strugle.....

iskayz just one point, that just fluckuations, nothing to worry about. as for responses being too long, dont worry about that, worry only if they are too short. we rate oneother by hitting positive or negative every time we respond to a discussion, and yes mylotters arethe ones rating each other. Long responces only make your points go up, which is good.they have no effect on the star, mylotters hitting postive or negative do affect our ratings.

I'm sorry you were downrated. Maybe the person who did it will tell you why. It happened to me a few weeks ago and I would have loved to know why. It's back up to 9 now and has been there for a while. I never seem to get all the way to 10. Some people here downrate themselves because something happened that caused problems. It was before my time, I've just read about it. I've not down voted anyone so far but I do vote positively quite often. I hope your number goes back up soon.

My star goes up and dowm on a daily bases. I always rate people and generally give a plus unless the post is just pure rude. personally, dont worry about it. Keep posting and enjoy you can make every one happy all the time. I am sure it will go back up as easy as it went down. :)
