Of course! Words are the most powerful weapons available, because they hurt you inside and are far more difficult to stop. But then again, my friend always said: Pen is mightier than sword untill that sword cuts off the hand that uses the pen. So maybe they are equal?

Yes it is not only these days but even during the earlier days it was pen which produced a miracle rather than a sword. It may not be able to produce blood but it surely produces a thought in mllions mind which is worth a lot more than anything. Cheers to PEN.

Metaphorically speaking, yes it is. You can relay your thoughts in writing and do much damage this way or let many other thoguhts be known in many different ways. You can down someone or something or pick it up saying nice things. There are many words to relay many feelings. The sword only speaks one thing or a couple, injury or sport. Writing relates many, many things.

YES! The written word can be powerful if you know how to apply it. Action sometimes don't hav the same effect especially if it is a disagreement. Personally, I'd rather write

While the sword may have won the battle, the pen will always win the war. Think about it this way: before literacy we had only legends to tell us of teh ways in which things came to be as they are. Since literacy, however, the battles are long forgotten until we study what the pen recorded for posterity. The sword may get things done in a hurry, but only the pen's work will last.

Pen = Opinion Sword = Arcaic thinking. In this modern world, one cannot keep to the same thinking of centuries past. Things will stay the same and things will change. However, the only change that comes by it is the Pen. For opinions on popular topics change, for worse or for best.

Anyone who knows history, knows that the pen is mightier than the sword. Using words to convince people to take action, whether that is a boycott, a protest march, any course of action that can bring down a government or force it to change can be accomplished without bloodshed. Unfortunately too many people rely on force to get their point across, but this is a sign of weakness. Surely if the idea is right and you can convince others without imposing your will on them, you've made the stronger argument. People who are forced into behaving a certain way have no loyalty for those who force them or bully them. With so many wars in the world today, this lesson needs to be taught more often, it seems.

The most complex message that was ever written with a sword was the "letter Z", but when it comes to killing people, the pen wouldn't be of too much help, right.......just joking. In the era of image that we are currently living, the phrase you wrote has got a message....and a correct one.

Buddy the sword is way more powerful. I mean ive only ever been stabbed by a pen and that hurt like hell, but i mean getting hit with a sword would kill. Goodluck killing someone with a pen. Seriously though the pen is much stronger. The sword may yeild results that seem to be apprent and effective, however the pen transcends so many audiences. If there were ever a way to convey a message or move the masses it by means of the pen.
