It's just like a great big bus trip with a far better view! Statistically speaking too (If it helps!) you are far safer flying than you are driving! I am someone who flies a LOT because my work takes me to many different countries each year. Seeing as the flight itself is around an hour and a half to two hours or so; sit back, enjoy it and make sure you ask for a window seat!

Thanks for the best response Calais! I am assuming that you have taken the flight by now so if you have then I hope it all went well and you enjoyed the experience!

Hey there...Just think about what you are going to be doing when you get to your destination and the trip will be over before you know it....Are you going alone? Just think happy thoughts and you will be fine....

Take along things to occupy them..that should do the trick...oh, and if your ears feel full or hurt just pinch your nose shut and blow so you can clear your ears and release the pressure....It is painful if you don't....It doesn't happen to everyone...but just incase...Don't blow really hard though, just enough so you hear them pop... I hope you have a safe and happy trip....

Hi Calais, two suggestions from me...make sure your sinuses are clear and have something to chew. Also have a riveting book to read during take-off and descent to land. Good luck.

Hi Calais, hadn't been in mylot in ages, and it's nice to be answering my mylot friends' discussions again. Well, i totally understand how you are feeling right now. I am lucky because i don't have a particular fear to flying, but many people that i know do. Best thing that you can do is take a relaxing infusion and think that flying is way more comfortable than driving, that you will save a lot of time and that nothing will happen, cause that is what will happen, nothing. Enjoy the flight :)

Oh sweety I can understand being scared if you have never flown but honestly it is so much fun! There is less chance of anything happening in the air than there is on the ground by far! If i were you I would take a good book, puzzle etc to distract you if you are beginning to freak out a little! Hugs and Good Luck - great to see you! xxx

I suggest that you get a window seat and then you will get a view at taking off and landing time. It would be a good idea for you to wear comfortable clothes for the journey. You might like to read a magazine or a book when the flight is in the air. When the plane begins to descend you could suck a sweet. If you feel discomfort in your ear hold you nose and blow until each of your ears pops. The plane makes a loud noise when it reaches the tarmac on the runway. That is nothing to worry about though. I have been on many flights, like around the world and on many shorter flights within Europe. Good luck and it would be lovely to hear how you get on.

I'm rather apprehensive about flying as well, the longest flight I have taken is to Colorado, it was nine hours, we had two stops. I took a tylenol PM before I boarded, and dozed on and off. The trip really didn't seem that long. I also flew to Vegas, that was five hours, I rather enjoyed that flight,
