I was wondering about this question since the day I started to work. From what I noticed, certificate is not that important in some part but in certain part,it makes some differences. For instance,a boss would promote a degree holder with several years of experience rather one with low education level but with more than 10 years working experience. So certificate plays role in this case also, but why?

Your question got me thinking alright! I think that both are important. As to the level of importance, it may differ from profession to profession. But for me, I still think that experience is the more useful in a career because there are times that you get the certificate just by sitting and listening to seminars with no application of the theories discussed whatsoever, whereas when you're really experienced you get to do the job first hand. So there, I still prefer experience over certification....

if you have experience thats good, but i think a certificate is better because it will show that you know what you are doing. becuase anyone can work in an industry for years and still not know exactly what they are doing.
