Do You Have a Spare Pair of Glasses, Just in Case?

Well, I asked because I accidentally broke my glasses a few days ago and I don't really have a spare pair. Of course, you could imagine the panicking and emotional turbulence to be followed *laughs*. I had to rush to an optical store immediately (at 7.30pm) and get a new pair. So tell, do you have a spare pair just in case that something is wrong with the current one?

hi wondericequeen .
yes dear the regular user and one with special glasses or high power glasses is advised to keep one (even if older one ) as spare for emergencies like this.
i hope you will also be conscious to have two pairs now.
all the very best.

No. I have only one pair of specs and I have to wear that all the time. It cost me quite a lot, being fitted with anti-glare lenses, and I couldn't afford another pair right at the moment.

Of course I have a spare pair of glasses, in case the pair I'm using is broken. If I don't wear glasses, I cannot see clearly. It will bring me a lot of inconvenience.

That is terrible! I hate when that happens. I have broken two pairs in my past. Once, they were able to replace the frame. Another time, they were able to bend it back into frame.
I do have a spare set of glasses, but it is the pair with my last prescription. So, at least I can see if my glasses get broken, just not as well as I need to. It came in handy a few months back when my friend and I were roughhousing, and one of my lenses not only popped out of the frame, but the frame, as I mentioned earlier, bended out of place. The place was already closed by that time, so I had to wait until the next morning. I am somewhat like Velma from the Scooby-Doo series; I cannot see well at all. So, in case of accidents, a spare set is a must for me.

I always have a spare pair of glasses. I was away from my city where my glasses broke and had so much problem. The suffering I faced because the city was like a small town with no good shop where I can order for a new pair of glasses, so it taught me a lesson and from that day I always keep a spare pair of glasses with me.

I have one more pair of glasses. One is on the table and I use it to watch TV. Another pair is in my bag and perhaps sometimes I need it when I go out. If it's not necessary, I don't want to wear glasses because I am afraid it will make my eyesight become worse.

i only have one pair of glasses. i don't really wear them all the time. i only wear glasses on certain occasions. it's usually for seeing details at night. i wear them when i am driving to somewhere i am not familiar with. i need my glasses to read the street signs and directions. other times that i wear my glasses will be at work. i wear them as looking at the computer is really tiring for my eyes. other than these times, i don't wear glasses at all. so i guess i don't really need a spare pair of glasses. cheers ;p

Hello wondericequeen,
I don't wear glasses but I can relate the story of my sister. She has two pairs - one for office use and another one for home use (for her to watch TV, read newspaper and so on) But she always forget to bring the pair that she needs to use at her office and always, always call back home and asks the son to send them to her immediately.

I don't but I think that's a great idea for people who are using eyeglasses. Better have some spare, so when something happens to the current eyeglass, you'll have one to use right away. Good point.

My spouse wears reading glasses cause
his eyesight is not so good.
But he is constantly losing them.
We used to have a spare pair, but
he lost those too.
Now when he loses them, I simply
ask my daughter to go find them.
She usually knows where they are.

I have a spare pair in my car since if they were to break I would not be able to drive my car home. What is neat is that my Hyundai Elantra has an actual glass case built into the roof for sunglasses I guess. That's where my spare pair is.
We used to have a one hour shop to get glasses made in an hour. I used to be there quite often when I was your age, I guess glasses just we're tough enough for the young me. Take care
