View Responses Before Responding

First of all, I log in directly to myLot without checking on my email notifications. So when I start mylotting, I check the top discussions first hoping that those would be interesting. Sometimes the discussions are too long for me to stay on track so I check on other posts. Now, when I reply to a discussion, I'll read the responses only if the question has one or two answers. For example, if the question is "how to earn more money on myLot," then I'll check what others have written and add to it or not respond anymore if the answer is already there. However, if the post asks for my personal opinion, I don't read others' replies anymore.

i agree with you... though i don't really read all the responses before i reply to a discussion... it will take lots of time to do that and i simply don't have the time... i read some of them... but not all... yes, i think mylot should guide the page to view the discussion first instead of going straight to respond to the discussion page directly... may be you can bring this up to the admin and see what they say... take care and have a nice day...

I don't usually respond through my notifications. I logged in directly to mylot. But I do read my notifications on my email. If ever the discussions my friend started interests me, I do respond immediately from my notification. I agree with you with the link, it should be view this discussion.

Hello there neildc, I do not read other persons responses before I write mines. It is after posting mines then I read the other threads. I don't even have my notification on either because there are so many friends on my list. I just go to discussions my friends started and response from there. I think it is best you just post your responses there is always a uniqueness by doing this.

Yes, I am comfortable in giving my response directly to a discussion I felt worth answering and I am capable of answering. I don't want to look at the responses of others because I don't want to be influenced by their opinions. What I want is to give my own honest opinion in the discussion.

Hi neildc! I have already turned off this features of mylot due to the reason that they usually occupy numerous space and great volume of my inbox. Also, instead of going through them I just stroll directly at them in the mylot discussion and try to respond to those I knew I can contribute. Since I was embarrassed due to my quick and unrelated comment to one's discussion (I was victimized by a tricky title discussion), I make it a point to really read the whole discussion before making any responses. So I think you have a point there, it will be better if mylot will changed the notification and let us view the discussion first instead of immediately going to the response column (by the way we can also view the discussion here).

Like most of the responses (and yes, I do read responses. hehe), I don't usually use the e-mail notifications since it might flood my inbox. So I just log in directly to myLot. I do read other people's responses to get a feel of the discussion. But if it's a hot topic discussion, I usually just read the first page and the last page then respond.

i have my notifications off so i haven't encounter that one yet. i just directly respond to the discussion but sometimes i also read some of the responders comments if i'm in the good mood

I usually respond to discussions here by logging in. I haven't checked my email lately so I wasn't able to respond through my notifications. I usually, view the other responses first before I share my opinions or leaving a response.

First of all, I don't rely on my Email to check for MyLot updates. I just browse around the site and in friends' profiles. If the discussions, looking for your opinions, then you could just post directly without reading others' unless you want to talk about other people's opinions.
