a really really bad trip!! but we have our dog back now

we finally got her back. we picked her up thursday in philly. we left about 11am to go get her at 248pm. on the way there we did just fine but it was getting to the airport. there was no signs any where. we ended up going to far and almost went into new jersey. we finally got to the airport and they said we had to go some other place to pick her up!! we found that place and got back on the road but the way my father in law said to go took us right in to new jersey!! so we finally got out of there and got about and hour from home and my hubby said he was going to stop for gas at the next exit. yeah well aparently our gas gadge wasn't working and we ended up running out of gas. we called a tow truck and they brought us $20 in gas and charged us $80. we finally made it home about 10:30pm when we should of been home by like 7. it was a really bad trip i never want to do again. anyway we have her now and she is doing great. she is very thin witch bothers me but other then that shes the same dog she was before. the kids haven't left her alone much so right now shes on the couch sleeping. now its getting our cat to get used to her. thats not going well! soon i hope

My s/o has almost driven to New Jersey trying to get through Philly too! And he's lived in PA for 20ish years! It's I guess about a 4 hour drive for us...a little less probably, I don't go much.
Anyway...he ran out of gas on the way back once too. It's ridiculous how much they charge just to bring you gas...and $20 in gas isn't much these days!
Glad you got your dog back though! That must have been hard to leave knowing she was still there. Is she adjusting to the new place alright? Our cats and dog still don't get along and they've basically been together since they were all little. It's funny, the newest baby kittens have started to hiss at the dog and the poor dogs jumps and runns away! But she also chased the older cats up trees so it all balances out in the end lol.

oh good my husband will be happy to here its not just us.lol he was so mad at him self. he couldn't understand how we could drive from OK to PA and back so many times with no problems but he couldn't even drive to the bottom of his our state. so that will make him very happy to know someone else has done it.
she is doing very good now,she is gaining weight and is loving the kids. i know i feel better knowing shes here and takin care of. it kind of like my kids NO ONE can take care of her as good as i can.lol it been almost 2 weeks and my cat still isn't liking the dog. it don't help that the cat just wants to smell and check her out but the dog wants to jump and play which ends up scaring the cat. i am determand to get them to like each other.lol

I'm glad that you finally got your dog back. your luck sounds about like ours. You try to fix one thing and a hundred more arise. It never fails here either. I'm glad you made it home though. I hope your cat gets used to the dog. I tried it and it didn't work. The cat had to go and I kept my doggie.

i hope the cat comes around. its gonna kill me if we have to get rid of her. its kind of like my kids no one can take care of her as good as me. i did tell my aunt joking that if it didn't work out then i was going to bring her there so we could still see her and get her all her favorite treats and things. she already has two cats but i think they are both males and ours is a female. our dog could really care less but as soon as the cat jumps or runs she ready to go after her but she just wants to play. the cat is fine on the other side of the glass and will play with the dog but when we had them face to face the cat wasn't to happy. we're gonna keep working on it and hope it all turns out good cuz it will brake my heart to get rid of our miss kitty. hopefully our luck changes and we can be one big happy family.

I am glad you have her back. It is a shame that the trip had to be so bad. Just be glad that she is finally home with you.
