I wash my hair everyday. Some people say that it is bad for the hair as washing it daily makes the hair dry. I think so too but, my country is very hot and humid. I'll feel very uncomfortable if I do not wash my hair daily. My scalp will somehow feel itchy and oily if I do not wash them after 1 day.
I only do not wash my hair when I am having fever. When my forehead feels warm, I will not let water touch my hair and forehead at all.
The longest time I had been through without washing my hair was 3 days. I had fever for 5 days. I was at home all the time so I do not feel my scalp itchy or oily.
How about you? What is the Longest Time you have been through without Washing your Hair? Why did you Not Wash your Hair for that period of time?
Please do share.

i have not washed my hair for about 4 days that has been the longest,
like yourself i get a really itchy scalp if i do not wash my hair at least every other day and i dont live in a hot country either.
i think it all depends on the individual and how much oil their scalp produces for example my mother could leave her hair for weeks if she wanted (she doesnt) because she has a very dry scalp and it never gets oily where as mine is terrible for it lol!

Well, I would say a good week!
I was out field during one of those long exercises and never got a chance to go to a proper bathroom for a shower.
The only bath I got are the powder baths that I took when I was out field.
Dry powder sprinkled all over the body.
As for the hair, it has to go without the powder.
At the end of the 7 days, my hair was so clumpy, it started to have clusters of really hard knotted lumps. The worst case was when it was raining and the rain mixed with the dust from the roads. My hair was so badly knotted, I had to shave off a lot of it after I return back to camp. ha ha ha ha... those were times I really hate to go out field.

I think it was when I had fever when I was in high school or grade school. Can't remember when exactly, but it was about 4 days. :( I hated the feeling of itchy hair. Our grandma would put vinegar on our scalp every time we get sick. I hated the smell and would wish days would just pass by quickly so I can wash my hair off again. I don't really know what the vinegar was for.

I'm trying to recall what it was for....I think it was purely another form of treatment so we wouldn't get sick for longer. It made me hate being sick when I was younger. The smell!

I wash my hair everyday because I am working in hospital, if I don't wash my hair,I feel like I am bringing germs everywhere in my house. Unless I am sick or have a fever then maybe I will wash my hair after one day. I cannot stand not washing my hair for more than one day. I will feel so uneasy until I cannot concentrate on my daily stuffs.

Dear friend,
I do wash my head every day as far as possible unless I am caught with some disease or fever or bed rest or hospitalised unless there is no water or may if the doctor prescribes not to wash. Other wise almost every day I take bath at morning and at night at that time I wash my hair too.

The longest I have ever gone without washing my hair is a week. My hair gets really dry sometimes with all the hair colouring that I do to it and so occasionally I have to leave it a long time before I wash it. I leave it for a week and then when I wash it I use special conditioners on it and it comes out lovely. I get better results out of my hair leaving it a week than I do when I am washing it every couple of days.

It sounds dirty to leave hair for so long, but when it is left then the natural oils of the hair come out. What we all look at as grease, those are your hairs oils, when those oils are left they soak into the hair keeping it rich and moist. Hair goes dry because of constant washing, drying and styling, plus any sprays we put on too. When it is left for a while and then washed and conditioned it feels gorgeous!!

mine would also be 3 days especially if i have a fever or a monthly period. i was taught by my mom not to wash my hair if i have those 2. i feel very uncomfortable when i don't wash my hair for how many days because my scalp tends to sweat and sometimes i would also have a dandruff if i didn't wash it for how many days

After my kids were born I may have gone two days? But I felt gross, even though I had had a c-section. So..only 2 days.

I also washed my hair everyday. It was quite uncomfortable not washing it even for one day. I think the longest time I have been through without washing my hair was 2-3 days, when also I got a fever. And it was so uncomfortable experience in my part, and I really wished I can take a bath even if I had a high fever. And it was heaven for me when in 3rd day, I can take a bath and able to wash my hair again. Even if, it wasn't itchy and oily, but the feeling that it's quite uneasy since it became a routine to me washing my hair. And every time I am sick and got a fever, it was sort of became my motivation for me to do my best to be healthy again, just so I can washed it and I must say that it really works for me.

The longest time would of been two years ago, and I went a week without washing my hair. UGH I hated that. I'd had a bad accident and had surgery. I was on bed rest and couldn't shower so we had to do sponge baths. Finally I couldn't stand it anymore and wrapped my injured leg in plastic, put a chair in the shower to sit on and washed my hair. I do have very dry frizzy hair, so luckily it doesn't get oily very fast. But still, a week was way too long and I hope to never be injured that badly again.
