Imagine you are planning a holiday trip with your family, within your country! While choosing mode of travel, which one you will prefer: Air travel or Road travel? If Road travel, whether by train, car or bus transport? If your family members differ with your choice?

My baby son gets bored on buses and my teenager likes to move around whilst traveling. So going by train would be the ideal way for my family to travel around our home country. We would look out of the window at the passing scenery, eat and drink in the dining car and chat to fellow travelers. We would walk up and down the carriage every now and then to stretch our legs. When arriving at a destination we would walk to our accommodation. We would visit places of historical interest, that would please my teenage son.

There are advantages to each mode of travel. Air travel gets you there fastest, but one has to find transportation from your home to the airport and, also, find transportation from the destination city's airport to your ultimate destination. If one wants to visit a relative in a small town with no airport, they must come to the city airport to get you, or you must rent a car. Travel by rail has all the same problems as air travel, as only the larger cities are serviced by passenger trains in this country. Travel time is longer by train than by airplane, but you get to see a lot more scenery. Bus travel is probably is the slowest of all, but most towns have a bus station. The scenery you see is only what can be seen from a major highway. Travel by auto can be as fast or as slow as you want it to be, but someone in your party has to do the driving. You can stop anytime the driver agrees and even take side trips, which is not possible with any other mode of transportation. The biggest plus, to me, is that when you get to your destination, you don't have to rent a car or depend on anyone else to take you somewhere. Also, you can start back home whenever YOU want to go, even if it's 2 o'clock in the morning.
