No way, caged birds are flaccid and without flavour, their muscles never develop so there is limited meat on them. yuk. Welfare aside, I could never go back to eating caged birds. A properly free range, mature chicken will have you looking at it roast on the plate and wondering where all these extra musclegroups came from, then being amazed that you can get 6 meals off a bird where a caged one might have only done you two. There is no contest. Soup made from the carcass of a caged bird has no substance.

I'll take free range chickens over caged any time. I grew up raising chickens. A free range chicken has some substance where a caged chicken is mushy. a free range chicken has a much better diet so has a much better taste. A caged chicken has a very bland diet and is raised too fast to get them to to table to gain any flavor. I have noticed that people that have been raised on instant foods and boxed mixes tend to think that they are better than the foods made from the real thing or from scratch. So maybe these scientist were raised on caged chickens and are there fore predigest.
