would you?
If I asked you if you would want to order AVON from me randomly, would you say
1) I would love to buy avon from you (and actually do so)
2) I would love to buy avon from you (and never get back in touch with me)
3) No thanks
I started selling and want to know what people think about a random person asking them to buy something, that they don't know and don't trust!
PS. You can also order AVON over the internet and get it shipped straight to you, and most of the time there are offers where you can get it shipped straight to you! Would you consider buying it then?

It's hard to target your audience when you walk up to random people. I like some of the ideas here but I find the most successful avon people are the ones that leave their magazines in semi-private washrooms. Like at an office. There is nothing to do while you are ...um... waiting so you read the magazine and it occurs to you that you simply must have that cream or whatever. Dr's offices that have those magazines from the 80s are good too. Put some in one of those free newsboxes near a bus stop. The key is to get people in a situation where they are bored and there is nothing else to do but shop...can you say cha-ching.

i don't think i will buy it... it is a matter of trust and how can i be sure i will receive the goods that i ordered from you??? so i think selling avon on the street is not a good idea as not many people will want to buy it... this is my opinion though... you can still try it and it might works for you... take care and have a nice day...

That's why they have the option now of buying online. You just go to my personal website and order and all it does is give me credit, Avon handles the money and shipping. Thanks for your response!

In todays world and the theives, no I would not buy it from you. NOt that you are a thief, but how do we know when we write you that check or give you the money we will ever see what we bought, this is true with anyone that walks up to a stranger anywhere and ask him to buy. You can show me a book dont' mean you selling it. There are too many scams in the world for me to except someone just walking up to me in a strange place and asking me to buy from them. People usually buy that kind of thing from a local person they know. It would throw me off to see a person standing asking for orders in a mall or out on the street. Maybe it just me and I been ripped off enough. I dont' think that is the way to go get orders, although I am only me. I don't really like Avon any more I believe it is over priced, and if I do buy it is usually something to do with Christmas or one of the holidays. And every where you turn where I live there is a avon lady. Some I know make good money at it, I tried it once, seems people like to make orders but didn't want to pay when the product came in, so after I got stuck paying for many things they didn't take I gave it up. Good luck to you in anything you do with the product. Just because I dont' like it dont' mean others don't.

Hey i totally understand people ripping you off. That's why avon has the option of ordering on line, where i never touch your money or your products. They also have the option where you don't have to pay for the product until it's in your hands, so I'm more likely to get scammed. Thanks!

Hello, gtgirl6643!
Actually, being a man, I'd not buy AVON products. But I can imagine the situation if you were selling products for men. I'd say the truth, if I find that the product is good, I'd certainly buy it. If not, then I wouldn't buy it and say I don't need that product/don't find it attractive.
I'm sure that if you walk asking people, there will be some who will buy the products that you sell.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Be Honest to yourself here for a second
IF a random person walked up to you in a mall ...even the most polite of us would listen politely then think what a koook when they had alked away.....
your strike rate would probably be less than 1% which you could probably get putting leaflets in letterboxes....which is also less embaressing as most of those will not see you.and remember you as that unusual person in the mall trying to sell avon...

I would actually be happy if someone offered me a brochure, I would read it and probably order something. I don't know maybe its a southern thing... everyone is just nice.

I would consider buying Avon stuff and have done so but i wouldn't buy anything from some random bod who just walked up to me in the street. I hate people approaching like that. I think a lot of people would just ignore you and keep walking in that situaton.

What if I just said, "hey here's a free sample and an avon brochure" would you chunk it in the next trash can or look through it when you got home?

I would most likely tell you no if you approached me on the street.
I have gotten Avon from their website before and they send me emails with sales and specials. I would most likely purchase Avon from their web site and not from a person. But then I am next to being a recluse and don't like people very much anyway.

Dear friend,
A avon, may be to a stranger I hardly could know what for helping which is much needed with the price which I have bear. I hope it would be confusing situation and I would just make it just to ask the request to a police officer. If shipped to me I may buy it depends upon the requirement at that time. If random person asks I would find an excuse which I would like to not to hurt them too. May be I would be confused and would say excuse me I am bit hurry please.

well i have never had somebody ask me to buy avon in the street, i do order avon thru my local rep but i get the book posted thru my door, i have never encountered this sort of selling with avon before.
i would probabaly say no to you if i was approached in the street as i really hate direct marketing.

i honestly dont know the only people i have ever bought avon from wa my family and friends. it depends if you look trustworthy or not, but then again at the same time looks are decieving. i probably wouldnt because i wouldnt be sure if i would get my order or if i would get my money back in case my order was not in stock. if you had a booth or something at the mall i would.

I would have to go with 3! Some random person approaching you automatically puts you in defensive mode and I'm sure that it would make it unlikely that they would just buy something off of this stranger that approached them. This is also why telemarketers have a hard time getting people to buy things over the phone.

If it was going to be shipped straight to my house and i really need something from avon, plus had the money i would probably buy something. I bought perfume from a guy that walked into the fast food joint i was working at at the time.
