Have you slept without dreaming?

sleeping with no dreams - I have slept without dreaming (or so I thought) maybe once. I just lay down in bed and next thing I know I am awake. I don't remember anything that happened between those times, so I think I didn't dream. But most of the time I am dreaming.

I have a friend who frequently don't have dreams while sleeping. And it is seldom to him to have dreams.

I want to dream long, especially with sweet dreams. Have experience this too? Have you ever slept without dreaming?

People who have studied sleeping and dreaming say everyone dreams and I think it is safe to agree with this although there would have to be some room for exceptions. I don't worry too much about my dreams unless they begin to recur or are really scary.

In a normal brain, everyone dreams, every night. So, I believe that we always dream when we sleep although sometimes our mind are not capable of storing them so we tend to forget as we wake up. But if the sleep is only short or just a nap, then possibly... dream could be without. The brain has at least two centers that are involved with our ability to sleep and with the ability to stay asleep. Our body organs go neutral when we sleep. The slowing down starts from the brain down to our heart beats then also our breathing slows and the body temperature drops. They say that dreaming is what helps our brain restore itself and prepares it for the next day. So let us go on dreaming!!!

Wow, so if dreaming is what helps our brain restore itself and my friend doesn't dream, then his brain is not restored at all!!!

Sometimes you can be so tired that you just dont remember. Or the dream was so traumatic that it becomes a repressed memory. I am not an expert but I believe we go into rem sleep several times a night in which tiome we dream. However, we usually only remember the last time (before we finally awaken). Those who "dont" dream just dont remember. Some of us remember only fragments. In this case keep a pad and paper near your place of sleeping and write down those fragments. Soon your will start to remember more and more. Again most of the time dreams are disjointed fragments of events from days past and other times, there are those who believe they are some kind of message. Interpretation, well that is another discussion!

I have heard of writing dreams after dreaming but I haven't really tried it. I don't think dreams have meanings in our future life. I think dreams are just an expression of what we feel in our subconscious state. About my friend who says he doesn't dream, he really mean that he doesn't dream and I don't remember him telling me that he dreamed. Have a nice day!

I do not think you did not dream at all. When we start to sleep our minds would automatically switch to dream mode always. When you wake up most of the dreams that you had may be lost already as your brain is busy transferring to wake up mode. That is why sometimes you thought you had no dreams at all but there is always one during a sleep.

I think we still dream but just don't remember it when we wake up. What I think is weird are the little tiny short dreams that only seem to last a second.

have you ever heard that a person who is asleep has 24 sides of dreams and only one dream can be remembered or sometimes not even one can be remembered..it happens to me as i wake up in the morning trying to think about what i dreamed about and i forgot about it i thought i never had one..on paranormal books you will find that in our sleep we dream 24 times..we just sometimes forget what we dreamed about..

I know some are saying that we can control what we will dream of by thinking of good things before sleeping. But I don't think it is one hundred percent sure. I can't control my dreams and have not tried to do so.

there are nights that i sleep without dreaming. in the morning when i wake up, i suddenly notice that i cant remember anything happened to my dreams, or if i really do have a dream. these are the nights that i feel so tired with the whole day's work that my mind shuts off and i totally fall in deep sleep.

Good day.. I slept a dreamless sleep specially when I'm tired for the hospital. I usually dream when my body is not that tired and I remember every account of it whether it be sweet or painful memories.

I'll bet you did dream those nights. Everyone dreams, but not everyone remembers every dream they had. We even dream more than once per night. It's necessary for our brains to put everything in order during the night. Have a nice day

I can go for weeks and even months without remembering any of my dreams if I had any and then I go through periods where I dream every night.

When we sleep we always dream it's just that sometimes we don't remember what we have dreamed of.It happens to me when I'm too tired for the day that sleep is the only time for me to rest. When I close my eyes it's still night time the moment I open them it's already morning and that happens when my sleep is very deep.

Here's the 101 on dreaming. We dream every single time we fall asleep--whether we recall it or not. In reality, we forget 90% of our dreaming.

Personally, I am never able to remember anything that I dream. As far as I know, everyone dreams as a way for the mind to distract the body while it is regenerating any energy that was lost during that day. If you normally remember your dreams it is natural to forget some every once in a while. Factors that usually affect remembering your dreams are stress, over working, ammount of sleep, and gender. I hope this helps.
