well i know that mobile plays a major role in our life but studies show that the radiattions given out by the mobile is very harmful to us.it can even cause cancer.other than that it has distracted children from their studies. in this modern world i know that its hard to live without mobiles. but isn't it a worry for all humans.i mean our life is more important. so do you think mobiles should be banned??

No, but i do think that children should not be allowed to use them in school. They should be left in their locker or backpack, turned off until the school day is over.

I agree cj. I think it's okay for them to have them for emergencies. But they need not use them in school, church, or any formal function. They need to be on vibrate or off so they do not disrupt anything. I have 6 grandchildren going to one school and one grandchild, the one resposible enough to have a cell. Oddly enough he is the 3rd child.

No, i do not think that mobiles should be banned at all. Mobiles phones are necessities these day. However, kids should not be given unlimited use of their mobile phones for their own good.

I don't know that they should be banded since they are so useful. I'm not very fond of them but they do come in handy.I get irritated when I'm out with some one and they spend most of that time on the mobile. I just wish that people had better manners as far as they are concerned.

I don't think a ban is necessary. It's up to us, the users, to use cellphones cautiously. I mean, if you're just texting and calling for important stuff that should be okay. But if you're chatting for hours and hours about senseless stuff then you're really asking for trouble.

No, I do not think that mobile phones should be banned. If everything that people suspected could cause cancer was banned then we would have nothing, no food, no technology. If you watch the news, there is a new thing every week that could cause cancer then a few weeks later it turns out that it actually prevents cancer.

Hello antony2best, I don't think mobiles should be banned as we use it for emergencies and I thank God my husband had one on him as he was knocked down while traveling back from work one night and a hit and run driver knocked my husband off his raceing bike. He called me while lying on the road side and another car stopped and use his own mobile to call the ambulance and the police so I don't believe in the bann, but I children should not be usesing the mobile so and the question I always ask how can they afford it? Banning mobile phones is not a good idea. You know how the mobile phones have changed our lives. Instead limited use of mobile phones and educating people regarding its usage should be done. Mobile phones usage should be banned in schools, while driving, hospitals etc. What do you say?

well i dont think so..theres really no evidence on that..unless maybe its clearly pointed out that cellphones are the culprit of the illness ..then maybe i could say that its the time to quit using or even proposed for banning it..

I definitely don't think they should be banned. Cell phones are good for emergencies and everything. Actually, for some people it's their only phone line these days. In my case that is true, we can't afford both cell phones and a landline at this time since we moved, and with cell phones we can all keep in contact without paying extra money, since we have a family plan. Now, as far as in schools, I would say it should be required to keep them either on vibrate, mute or turned off while in class. Then again, I didn't have a cell phone when I was in high school, so my experience is with college, and I know in college I would keep my phone either turned off or on vibrate. Did I text from time to time? Sure, very occasionally if I needed to, and very discetely. And did I see others use their cells to text? Yes, but it didn't both me, if they weren't making noise or anything what did it hurt me? Usually I was too busy listening and taking notes, and that is even with my attention problems. Also, I never saw anyone try to get away with it during a test or anything, if they had tried I'm sure they would have gotten kicked out anyway. I do think the use while driving is a problem, but even then, if they have a hands free system set up, it is not so bad. As far as the radiation, I have been hearing about that with pretty much every electronic my whole life. Something like cancer is either going to develop in someone or it's not going to. If we live our lives scared that we are going to get cancer from everything we touch, well, that's not going to make for a very good life. Also, I really feel that something like cell phone use habits should be left up to the consumer. As long as you aren't endangering other drivers by driving while texting or driving with one hand on the wheel and the other hand with a cell phone up to the ear, I say go for it. The government would just love to take freedoms away when it comes to other personal choices, I'd hate to see cell phones become threatened next. I always say My Body, My Life, My Business--if I want to use my cell phone 6 hours at a time I am going to, although I haven't done that more than a few times, and I was in the privacy of my own room, so it wasn't bothering anyone! This is the attitude more people need to take on, personal responsibility, instead of worrying what your neighbor is doing just worry about what you are doing. I hope nothing I said sounds rude, I didn't mean it that way, I am just a firm believer in personal rights and personal responsibility.

Banned? No. Used in moderation? Yes. Especially for kids and young adults. They don't need it, it's just a want for them and they don't have to get one. Off course it's the 'fault' of the parents. In this day and age we all want to know where our children are and that's why we get them cell phones so that they can contact us when they need help or something. We need to start thinking in another way. Have a nice day

I son't think so because mobile is not the only factor which harms the health so it should not be banned. In this high technology age we have to make our pace toward to the prevention of the problems not banned.

no, according to me a mobile phone if the most useful thing in this planet if and only if its used the way it should. there is no point banning the mobile phones, more over i find people blaming their cell phones really weired because its not a luxuary anymore its become a neccecity. one should know to use it properly and follow the rules where is not supposed to be used like places of worship, school and while driving etc.

In my final english examine, the topic of composition is that the advantage and disadvantage of cell phone and give your viewpoint.after the test,i asked many classmates about their views and most of them think that the advantages of cell phone outweight the disadvantages.in our modern society, there are many electric objects that is harm for our heath, like computer,tv,icebox...the telephone is just one of them.the mobile is very important to us especially when we face with the emergency, even though the mobile seems to have a farm to us .i think the advantages of mobile outweight the disadvantages.

I think that you have to be a bit older (before mobiles/cell phones were common) to appreciate that it is very easy to live without them! Really, I find them very invasive. Do I want to go grocery shopping listening to people talking on their phones? Do I want to take the train and listen to someone else's conversation? Do I want to go to a restaurant or movie and have someone's phone ringing? Don't even get me started on distracted drivers, talking on phones and not focusing on the road. As for children and mobiles, they take their cues from adults. If adults don't have good mobile behavior, neither will children. All this is not even debating the question of how safe they are. I used to see a lot of coverage about the health risks in the media, but this story has virtually disappeared. I think that people should exercise caution.

I don't think so. Mobile phones also have their advantages. Such as you can make a call for help in some emergencies. The cosmetic can lead to cancer, too. Why not ban them? And the knife can kill people, who also ban it? There are many things like it in the world. It just depends on you use it. I love China

Hi antony2best, Hopefully, the mobile can be made safe. I think that is the answer rather than banning them. It's true that there are dangers right down and people need to let the manufacturers know that something has to be done. Progress doesn't come from banning new technology but from improving it. Blessings.

I dont think that mobiles should be banned, but the use of them in confined spaces should be limited!if we arent allowed to take a few puffs in a confined space then why should our ears be subjected to the continual ridiculous tunes churned out by the mobile phones. But moving on swiftly ...to the funniest ring tone I have vevr heard of...it goes like this...Will the guy with the big c**** please answer his phone!!!..and that was one that hubby heard while having a pint at his local!..theres a time and a place for everything and mobile phones should not rule ,ruin or interrupt our lives..and so say all of us!!

If there is another better alternative, OK we can think of switching over to it. Banning is not an option, I believe my friend.

i do not think that mobile should be banned. today everyone needs mobiles to stay in touch with there family, friends and business. i think children should be allowed to use. i agree that they always use mobile for fun. But if child has a mobile then parents can know where he is and how is he .
