I've been on mylot for a few months now, and I have problems coming up with stuff to talk about. I've started a few discussions but its hard to get alot of responses. There are some on here that start one discussion after another, and I don't know how they do that, and they'll get alot of responses to them.

I have experienced this too. But what I do is find discussions and respond rather than start a new one. It is easier to respond than create a new discussion. :D

yes, i am running out of ideas to start here on mylot.
i haven't started a discussion much this week. i only started one so far throughout the week which was about my b/f's computer problems. and that's been it so far.
a lot of the new members already ask a question here on mylot, and if you think of a question to ask, it's already been posted. so, i normally just respond to people that have questions to ask. i won't get deleted that way if i ask the same question and than the question would be deleted for double posting. :(

No, I have a lot of ideas but my problem is that they seem not to be the kind of ideas which could make for popular discussion. it seems MyLotters prefer light topics and avoid discussions of a more profound nature. of course i could come up with topics which are not so heavy on the mental side but what's the use of starting a discussion which servies no purpose? BBut i'm learning to adjust.

I cannot remember if I responded to this so forgive me if I did. lol. I never run out of ideas because I keep a notebook near me at all times and when I think of something to talk about, I write it down and save it for when the kids are in bed. If I didn't do this, I would never think of anything because I don't have much time on here and to try and remember all I want to write on a given day in this time frame... I would be better off giving up if that were the case.
For others that can work that way, wonderful. Me, I suck at it.

I ran out of idea a long time ago, so now I just posting responses, I have not a big imagination for make up post of the nothing, when I start a discussion it is about something that happened to me or to a friend, sometimes I change it a little bit but anyway it got a part of truth on the discussion, sometimes I also run out of discussion to reply, because I like to post responses to the ones that my friend have started, so If I run out of them I would go to my interest link to check the lastes discussions.

Yes, I rarely have anything to post discussions about. I don't have any ideas so I just respond to other people's discussions. I never know what to start a discussions about so for me, it is just easier to reply. I keep all my friend's notify buttons on so I get a lot of emails from mylot, stating that one of my friends started a discussion. I get about 100 emails a day so I am always behind in responding to them. I start with the older ones and am working my way to the newer ones. Right now I am about 2 months behind, but I am slowly catching up, as I used to be about 3 months behind.

Yes, I face that problem. I am having that problem right now actually.. lol
i am trying to think of something to write up but nothing is really coming to mind that i think will get responded too... I could sit here and probably write something up but not something that i think would get many if even responses.
I am also having a problem finding discussions to respond to myself.
My brain just doesn't wanna work any i guess

I find if I think too hard about it then it's difficult to think of topics, so I don't deliberately set out to think of a topic, but I just post discussions when I think of something during the course of my day or night. I don't tend to start loads of discussions anyway; if I set myself a target or something then I know I'd just be posting silly, pointless questions just for the sake of starting discussions. I think it's like with anything, if you put pressure on yourself to do it then it's not going happen!
I tend to answer more discussions than I post, and I find this great fun. Don't worry about thinking of new topics all the time, just have fun here, answer any question that takes your fancy and post your own discussions when you think of them and you want to know something or get peoples' opinions about a subject.

I just wanted to add that I think it's impossible to run out of subjects to post. You're doing new things all the time and having new experiences and thoughts, watching more TV programmes, going to different places. Just as you'll never run out of new ideas in your life, there'll always be something new to post about! Don't pressurise yourself and they'll come to mind.
